very nice collection, mgc! well done.

gutted for Rhombix, tho. his thread about 1 album on tape has been somewhat (massively) over shadowed here!

i think that's the most comprehensive collection of Aphex stuff i've ever seen one single person have.

love that tape player, too.

No worries, it's totally worth it to get a good gawp at a collection like that! I'm just glad he had an opportunity to post about it.

You just joined a pretty awesome club. Keep it away from the walkman, get something quality.

Looks like an awesome afx-collection you got there, any chance too see more pics from it?

I've got the Japanese Come To Daddy VHS that contains the only officially released version of the Ventolin Video... would look nice in your impressive collection, eh? :spiteful:

:orly: I'm not seeing it on Discogs? Intrigued.

From the old archives:

HOME VIDEO ITEM. : THE APHEX TWIN (APR.1998)

1 ON (0:30-4:15) 3:45

2 DONKEY RHUBARB (4:20-8:11) 3:51

3 COME TO DADDY (director's cut) (8:27-14:18) 5:51

4 VENTOLIN (14:32-19:32) 5:00

JAP (NTSC VHS. WPVR-88 / 4943674008834)

WARNER MUSIC VISION JAPAN/WARP RECORDS LTD.

note: The Japanese vhs video cassette for "Home Video Item." is also

referred to as "Home Entertainment Item.", and/or "Come To Viddy".

note: The Japanese vhs video cassette for "Home Video Item." comes in a

transparent plastic video box (with a wraparound picture sleeve),

allowing an additional picture sleeve to be visible beneath its inner

casing. A white [print] on black sleeve sticker is affixed to the

shrinkwrap which [originally] encompasses the video's packaging.

Ah right, I got mine off Warpmart a few years back. Don't know if they were just old stock or re-issues but I'd like the originals. Obviously.

Richard's discography and biography always makes me want to delete my project files and sell my equipment. With any luck, I'm going to be in my mid 30s before I make music that's on the same level that he made at my age. 19 and I am just now finding myself musically, and I didn't even know good music existed when I was 13, let alone make it myself. Gahhhhhhhhhh

This is how I feel every time I see a large amount of Picasso's work as well.

WARPmart was selling the Japanese one??? I never saw that...

Also interesting to note (and was added to the above afterwards) is the inner side of that picture sleeve is a discography listing of Richard's WARP releases clearly listing GAK - official proof (as if at this point any was needed) that GAK was Richard's work.

Scan that list Joyrex please

I had a scan of it on the site ages ago... let me see if I can dig it up, or just get it out of my cabinet and scan it again

  • 1 month later...

I don't know how, but someone has figured out my eBay username and has been asking me to sell my cassette copy of SAW2.

hi, would you consider selling the aphex twin tapes now?

cheers

That was a couple of days ago, but this guy has been sending me occasional messages like this for about two months (be honest, is it one of you?)

I'm stuck for a good way to reply, but I am tempted to take the piss a little bit. Any WATMM suggestions?
