I need a new phone, badly. My iphone 3GS is on it's last legs.

They say this one is about the same width, a bit thinner and a bit longer.

I was hoping it would be curved on the back like the 3gs. We'll see, I guess.

Go China!

i think my 4S is up for renewal in about 12 months...will look into a 5, (or possibly even a 5S by then) nearer the time... all the iphones i've had are still going strong though - my old 3G is still being used daily by my mate and my old 4 is used by my GF - every time i get an upgrade i just bump my old phone down a level...pretty good deal for everyone else lol

plus it's launching with ios6. so the 6th iPhone with ios6 is the iPhone 5. ok.

they should just call it the iPhone like the MacBooks and iMacs, etc.

in addition to this one being larger, they moved the headphone jack to the bottom which is strange. they are also changing the dock connection. all new cables, yay!

I don't really care about the name but I'm pretty excited for this cause I'm due for an upgrade.

Gonna be nice to sell my iPhone 4 on Craigslist for more than the new one costs

Yeah, right?

I personally don't like the idea of the headphone jack on the bottom, but I can get used to it.

My 4 is up for renewal, in fact I've just switched to a cheap pay-monthly deal on it. Probably won't rush in for a 5, but will wait until after christmas. Been really happy with my 4 and I reckon the 5 won't be cheap and so the 4 should hold on to it's re-sale value.

So peoples old iPhones are dying on them and now they want another iPhone? o.O

Doesn't that make yall question the reliability of the phones you are buying?

when i put my phone in my pocket it goes in upside down. when i get a call i just reach in and grab it and put it to my ear. having the headphone jack at the bottom would make this way more comfortable, bc as it stands I either have my phone upside down in my pocket which bunches up the headphones all weird since this way the jack is at the bottom or I have my phone right side up which makes answering calls awkward.

in fact, having the headphone jack at the bottom is something i have always wanted, which makes you guys pieces of shit for thinking otherwise.

I guess it was just one person.

to clarify, my phone is 3.5 years old. every other phone i've ever had was for 1 year. so yea, this is the best phone i've ever had.

Agree about the headphone jack being at the bottom. That's a given IMO.

Also my 4 has definitely been really rock solid (had it for over 2 years) so I think the build quality has been good.

I never understood the need to get a new phone every 12-18 month. What are you doing to your phones to be "on their last legs" after just 3 years. I've had 5 phones since I got my first in 97, the best one ever being the Nokia 6110.

Upgrade on technology. In the last 10-15 years the development of mobile/smart phones has been ridiculous.
