Yeah I think they're illegally bootlegged by someone in the US UK. There was another thread on it I forget what the thread was called. =(

More info on it here: http://forum.watmm.com/topic/86582-another-cat023-on-ebay-signed-by-richard-20000-usd/page-2

TL:DR Yes, it is a bootleg 'sponsored' by Piccadilly Records, Rephlex knows about it but they are not behind this - they are limited to 1000 copies and have the Aphex Twin logo [sic] on the sleeve. The source material is almost certinly the vinyl rip from the Kickstarter - so not ideal to press on vinyl...

My advice: don't buy - don't give money to these valschmunters for a substandard pressing!

i got it from eBay. £24 with postage.

it comes on 2 nice clear 12' with black sleeve with an aphex logo in the corner.

it was cat 23 in the run out grove.

have to say they don't don't sound all that, not weight in the sound if you know what i mean.

but i guess they are a rip from mp3.

but for the price i like it and they go nice with my record collection.

thats all i know about them.

  • 2 weeks later...

Some of you must've seen this by now, right? http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/482493

I sent the guy a message asking if it's legit or if he didn't know about the bootleg but he hasn't answered yet...

I wouldn't trust it...

Update: he responded to me a couple of days ago saying he got the record from his cousin who used to be a DJ in Germany in the 90's

who got it from AWeX (http://www.discogs.com/artist/1627-AWeX)

The seller said he couldn't provide images but he could lower the price to 1700€ if i paid him outside discogs...

Question is, would a seller scam someone when he has over 1300 feedbacks? What would happen afterwards?

Not saying anything about this guy personally (since I don't know him), but for the right amount of money, anyone is capable of doing things that contradict their character.

Not being able to have a picture taken in 2015 for something this valuable and dubious now that the bootleg is around?

I wouldn't trust it...

In any case I would remain very sceptical, even with all that feedback. Maybe you could try and send an email to those AWeX guys to get some confirmation?

There's simply too many folks claiming to have this... I can't see something that was this rare not leaking sooner if this many people supposedly had copies of the test pressing...
