mcbpete Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 He still owes me the 40 quid edition of Psyence Fiction I paid on his Kickstarter back in 2013.
BobDobalina Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 lol Is any of the post-shadow stuff any good? I always got the impression that lavelle:unkle::paterson:orb only with less talent
mcbpete Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 I've definitely preferred post-Shadow era Unkle to post-Unkle era Shadow that's for sure ! But yeah I've quite liked his stuff, sometimes tracks are a little po-faced and pompous, but definitely well produced Always wondered if the track 'Burn My Shadow' was a reference to Josh Davis's departure, I heard the whole project together was quite fraught with egos

kiya Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Isn't the entire thing a vanity project for Lavelle? I've heard he doesn't actually know how to produce anything or write any tracks, he just hires people and slaps his name on it. I only really liked the first UNKLE release, the one that came as a 2x12" MoWax release with that sick Portishead remix.
zero Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Always wondered if the track 'Burn My Shadow' was a reference to Josh Davis's departure, I heard the whole project together was quite fraught with egos Yeah, Shadow was on record complaining about the studio recording process with Lavelle on Psyence Fiction. He hasn't discussed that album much since then so suppose they didn't leave on best of terms. I haven't followed much of Unkle since then. I remember they did cool remixes back in the late 90s. The YouTube track posted above isn't for me.
