I ordered a bunch of her vinyl, and the artistic quality / visual presentation suits the music perfectly. There is a uniformity to the style (visual and sound) of each release, which is difficult to achieve as an artist over the span of years - coming from my experience. Guest bitroast Posted December 1, 2014 Share Posted December 1, 2014 yess. digging into groupers catalogue and getting obsessive is a great little world to absorb yourself into / big fan. for some reason, the casual nature of the album gave me this bias that it wasn't going to be that good before I even heard the thing... received in mail recently and been listening a lot. .. it's so beautiful ... *u* the songs really are just classic grouper but played straight up on a piano + multitracking. the multitracked vocals are so pretty too, btw... songs like clearing and lighthouse seem like similar songs melodically to alien observer, hold the way. but stripped back and limited to piano (more so than what I was expecting from a grouper piano album). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhiKqkmkvO4 anyway. yes. lovely album :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm not really going to say anymore than that really. Pretty much lost for words to explain what a powerful effect this has just had on me. She was on guitar for this one, played about 5 completely new songs off the bat (that are reminiscent of the AIA stuff) one of which was an absolute stunner. She played a few tunes of 'Ruins' as well, (Labyrinth, Lighthouse and Clearing) but as a guitar arrangement. Then finished with a nice long drone.
