Resonating Wires - Autistici Reworked
by Guest room- 0 replies
Resonating Wires | Autistici Reworked Resonating Wires started as one vibrating wire from an acoustic guitar, captured, sculptured and morphed into a buzzing pad of noise. This unique remix album sees the process start again via the reinterpretation of the material by an array of talented ambient & microsound artists, including works by: * Simon Scott * Bluermutt * Sawako * Jimmy Behan * Francisco Lopez * Isan * Justin Varis * Ian Hawgood & Danny Norbury * Richard Chartier * He Can Jog The album contains much beauty and diversity and has received some great reviews: Headphone Commute: "Resonating Wir…

A1 Transilvanian Galaxi B1 Rock On B2 Atle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXYYJ5yGuTU I stumbled across this, didn't know what to think at first, and then fell in love. Think cheesy gothic italo, but insanely catchy. Rock On is killer too, very moody, very Gatekeeper.

ACP048 Igorrr - Moisissure Igorrr (aka Gautier Serre) is a French composer of electronic and acoustic music who mixes with astonishing ease genres as different as electronica, baroque music, death metal and trip hop among others. "Imagine what would be if a church organist goes crazy, learns to growl, masters the wisdom of working with sound on computer, learns to beat drum rhythms in the manner of Slipknot, plays drum machine à la Venetian Snares. His favorite musical instruments would be Latin guitar, he would listen to music of the Middle Ages and his hobby would be to collect old records. Have you imagined that? Well, Igorrr is something of this kind.…

SENKING - Pong CD audio + CD data raster-noton R-N 122 Release date: September 6 www.raster-noton.net PONG - referring to the classic video game - is Senking's fiffth release on raster-noton, moving its focus on stretched dubstep rhythms. To these slow motion grooves, he adds shredded melodies, sub basses and echoes, which create an atmosphere like an Angelo-Badalamenti-soundtrack known from David Lynch's movies. His electronic sound aesthetic reflects rather an organic texture than a machine made algorithm. In tradition of former dub producers, he generates his tracks while playing, and therefore they appear to be momentary. They are aware of the club, but do not …

Chime, Chime (Re-rung) 7:34 Philip Jeck works with old records and record players salvaged from junk shops turning them to his own purposes. He really does play them as musical instruments, creating an intensely personal language that evolves with each added part of a record. Philip Jeck makes geniunely moving and transfixing music, where we hear the art not the gimmick. Philip Jeck writes: "A version of "An Ark For Th…

Lee "Scratch" Perry - Sound System Scratch
by Guest Hanratty- 1 reply
Anyone with a passing interest in reggae has heard of Lee Perry also known as ‘Scratch’ or ‘The Upsetter’ but, over the last thirty years, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry has become better known as a ‘performance artist’ rather than a performer, an artist or record producer. Yet Scratch’s importance to the history of Jamaican music in particular, and recorded music in general, is second to none. He has made an incredible contribution to the development of reggae as a producer, arranger and writer and was the inspiration behind many of the key movements in the development of the music. In a business overcrowded with superlatives the word ‘genius’ is too often used to describe the most…

Electronic deconstructionist Markus Popp/Oval recently released the first new Oval material in over a decade in Oh, the Thrill Jockey 12″ that sold out its pressing of 1,000 in pre-order. I guess there were some Oval fans out there waiting for some new stuff, huh? What’s more, they can rejoice yet again, because on September 7th, Thrill Jockey will release Oval’s new 70-track double-album, O. The album comes in 4 different covers, and Oval is slated to play some rare performances in support of the new record in Europe, Japan, and North America. In the meantime, Mr. Popp has put together a FREE EP, featuring non-album tracks from the O sessions. It’s called Ringtones, …

Is there really no thread for this album? I just picked it up yesterday and am listening for the first time now. It's super excellent, as anticipated. Dude really has his shit together. I read the Pfork review for this record and it actually does make some good points, especially in regards to this album having a "sense of humor" or some sort of fun factor to it, more so than other SUPAR AGGRO URBAN MUSICK DOODS' albums. In my opinion anyway. Bit of a genre melting pot ('Stars' and all that plus the expected steppy tunes) too. Neat CD package as well. I'm gonna nab the Stars single from the Mu website as soon as I get home tonight too. Millenia is a large-ish ham…
