Career working on computers
by Guest joshier- 16 replies

Obviously some of you will have a career on computers as in musicians, composers etc so, any of you have any tips for working on the computer without having fatigued feeling, always tired, weak etc? obviously it's not a very healthy career choice unless you're prepared to take time out every day and do some exercise but i'd like to know your opinions.

the theater of the arts was closed so i lit a cigarette and walked along the boulevard hoping to accumulate the gazes of various lecherous women. my pants fit very well so i did not think this would be expecting too much. i lit a cigarette. just then i saw an old friend and approached him, he asked me for a cigarette and recognized me and i gave him a cigarette and lit it. we talked and looked at (into?) the moon, smoking, and he ate a snack he got at the carnival. i thought i too would like such a treat so we walked together to the carnival and this is where i caught the most glances and felt very confident and even inflated and arrogant (i could have crushed some one ju…

so who has kids? is it great? everyone says is great. greatest thing they ever did. but no one ever says 'it was ok'. seems we're programmed to love our offspring (which is obviously a good thing) but I think there is also a part to it where parents cannot admit to themselves that infact waking up 3 times in the night isnt worth it for this little lifeform. lately i've been feeling very selfish and my brother had a baby and now thinks of nothing except the baby, totally overprotective. is it just another (overwhelming) distraction from ourselves? part of it too is that thats what you do next. graduate, job, married.... bored now....KIDS!! think I might ski…

Has got to be AutoPager. It essentially loads the following pages as in, go to a thread and it will load up all pages within one webpage. It works for google and thousands of other sites. To trigger loading you scroll to the bottom of the screen. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4925

Deadliest Warrior.

Did any of you catch this show on spike? The whole point is 2 historical warriors are compared by "experts" to see which one would win if they were pitted against each other. I did not catch it, but one of my friends recommended it to me. The last one was samurai vs. viking and the samurai prevailed. Sounds like an interesting concept, but I am not sure how well they executed it.

Andy Stott appreciation
by Guest Kibreg- 5 replies

I'm not that keen on most dub techno stuff but Andy Stott's material is amazing. "Unknown Exception" is an incredible album from start to finish; his "Brief Encounter / Drippin" single is just sick. love the dubstep release as Andrea (with Millie aka MLZ) as well. I want MORE. big ups Andy Stott.

seeing as how coil has been a subject as of late, i thought id start a thread about peter christophersons earlier group. personally, im a fan, although i can definitely see how they could be easily hated. i love their new album, 'part two: the endless not'. i also read a pretty nifty (and exhaustive) bio called 'wreckers of civilization' that id urge anyone interested in tg to check out. drew daniels (of matmos) just authored a book in the 33 1/3 series on '20 jazz funk greats'. that i didnt find so nifty, but i appreciated his efforts... vintage tg new tg. note jhonn balance spazzing in the front row. and genesis p-orridge has looked.... better.

Hopefully the Twilight sequel won't be finished by July and push this back another Year. Though I will say looks good. Though they should've made this 2 parts like the Deathly Hallows. It is supposed to come out July 17th. I guess that's tentative. Looks good though. They should have let the guy who did Prisoner of Azkaban direct the whole series. But still, i'm sure i'll watch it a million times.

Food blogs

I only knowfxcuisine. I was looking at a random French food blog earlier and it was beautiful, but I couldn't understand a lot of it. Although the pictures combined with text made it possible, Vous avez vu, c'est pas difficile! and I kind of want to learn French now. It's not ideal though. I'd like to prepare some nice food before there's no food left. So who knows some good food blogs? I'm pretty sure Encey or someone posted a decent looking one once. ps. check this out, a big courgette with a little courgette

I don't know anything about digital video cameras
by Guest my usernames always really suck- 1 reply

I want to make ~10 minute driving videos similar to this JET teacher, only instead of Japan it would be similarly-beautiful and interesting places here in Washington state: The choices of digital video cameras on sites like Newegg, Amazon, etc. is too god damn overwhelming for me to make a blind, random decision with any confidence. What's a good, durable, sturdy camera I can buy for under $150? With quality comparable to that seen in this person's videos (so not shitty, blurry, over-pixelated, horribly-compressed video you see in a lot of user videos)? Are SD cards the main and "only" storage medium for these things, or are there also other storage form…
