  1. According to the JCM900 manual there should be a Direct-Out on the rear which is the pre-amp signal so that would make daisy chaining it into your Ampeg a possibility. Additionally it says that there is a Impedance Selector Switch on the back and the combo's can be set to either 4 or 8 ohms. Generally when you want to use a speaker that has lower impedance than your amp you're ok as long as you keep the levels low, otherwise the speaker might draw too much current and the amp might overheat. Curious to hear how this works out. My brother found a VS265 dual 65 watt combo in the trash some weeks ago and I got to spend some time fixing it. Even though I can't really play and the valvestates are probably entry-level Marshalls it sounded really great to my ears. First time hearing an amp like that in my own living room and it totally clicked.
  2. Just gonna go ahead and quote myself here. Made it through the first interview, second one and final one was this morning. I think it went ok, but I'm not sure and the anticipation is driving me nuts and I keep thinking of things that I could've/should've said differently etc. Hhhhhhhnnnnngggggggggggg. Uuurgh. Additional fwp; there's some kind of gas carrier moored across from my apartment and it's producing a constant 800hzish tone. It's been here since around 5 pm and will be for the entire night. I closed the windows on the waterside but as there's less ambient noise now I can hear it coming in through the other side as well.

Maybe it’s because it’s a flesh body with a drawn head? Or they’re really into j-bo.
  4. The sea-urchin reigns over which hospital department? Urgent care.
  5. Going to Gefle metal festival this friday and spending a few days in Stockholm before and after. Was hoping to get some tips on cool places to visit, any bars, thriftshops, recordshops or just interesting spots to check out are welcome. So far the Nya Carnegiebryggeriet and Sound Pollution are on the list. Is Södermalm worth visiting or just a hipster deathtrap?
  6. Oof. Well jell here. Been oggling various iterations of the drm for the last decade or so. Did you get one with the gate/cv board?
  7. You can realistically buy a secondhand sl1200 in good condition starting from around 650-700 eu. Maybe it's different in the US where you can drive up to a high spec metal milling factory and get the guys to mill the parts for you in exchange for a couple of sixpacks but there's no way in hell you can do that over here. You might get an approximation for a one-off arm milled for 3-400,- and then you have to get all the other stuff and be able to put it together so you can safely and reliably operate your turntable on a daily basis and get all your orders right from the start without any prototyping and you'd be lucky to get your homebrew factory milled turntable at 2000,-. I'm all for DIY and I love spending time on things etc but boldly stating that you can have a usable turntable made from manufactured to spec one-off parts and have it be a hell of a lot cheaper than say buying either a new oem technics clone or a second-hand real deal is totally bonkers. edit; I realize at no point did you mention technics or sl1200's but I went and made the mental leap from good DJ turntable to that standard. To slightly reduce the ramble factor of my post.
  8. I feel your pain, warped boards are the worst. You're probably already doing this or something similar and it's time consuming but in situations like these I usually end up marking the cut on both sides with a square and then plane or sand the cut as square as possible.
  9. Harsh. Here's a 39 page thread on a hifi-forum in which the fiio people also post, perhaps this can help you troubleshoot? https://www.head-fi.org/threads/fiio-bta30,hi-fi-desktop-bluetooth-receiver-transmitter,rca-optical-coaxial-interface.926876/page-33
  10. Wasted like 3 hours trying to find a way around giving my phone# to chat gpt so it could finish the letter for me, then tried building a chatgpt from some github repo and upload that to a discord chan which took ages as the xcode tools installer kept hanging, then found out I still needed a openai key and to get one I'd need to give up my phone number. Then I found out I could just add an existing chatgpt to my channel and then realized it was useless. So I finally finished writing the letter at 5 am, spent another hour tweaking it and my resume and waited until 9 before sending it out so as not to come across as some weirdo night dweller. This is 2 pages of text btw, I'm not some kind of jobbernaut. FWS; They phoned me back this afternoon and after some chatting I got invited for an interview. Hurray.
  11. We've been trying to implement the 2020-SMBM in our main production facility since 3/5 Q1 but it hasn't exactly been a smooth ride. The sample slicer kept getting misaligned with the grid sequencer causing all kinds of weirdness from abnormally terminated rimshots to illegal flams meaning we now have shifts of 5 dudes in full ppe on constant standby in case the one shot samplers need to be re-filled. Already put one guy in hospital when a timpani broke loose and found its way onto one of the fx channels where it crashed into a gated reverb causing some of it to be released into the environment and our guy got the tail of it. Looks like he'll make it but that should not have happened. By the time they finally got a service tech onsite the higurashi generator was permanently stuck in french grip and just spitting out mangled maracas rolls and the whole goddamn thing overheated. Beatboxing is non-existent and definitely not suitable for use in an industrial production environment. At this point we might roll back to our old system before we lose any employees or clients.
  12. The trick is to first convert to GBP and then to EUR. 1 USD = 0.7899 GBP, 1 GBP = 1.1651 EUR. So you're looking at a net profit of about .0651 EUR per USD. Noice. SFWP; I'm attempting to write an application letter. It's taken me around four hours to write 179 words across four paragraphs. It's not easy being a stupid first world person.
  13. It seems debit and credit cards are named from the bank’s perspective rather than the consumer’s.

  16. Do it! I've been living like an animal for the last 3-4 years or so but I feel I'm still benefiting from going through a phase of about 2 years where I meditated on a regular basis, shortly before falling back into my regular bs cyclus... What set it off for me was reading the first few chapters of (I've been meaning to actually finish it) Pema Chodron's "when things fall apart". I found her tone/way of writing very down to earth and relatable and she seems to be free of woo and other such nonsense as far as I could tell. Then I started using an app where you start doing like 2 minute guided meditations and you work towards doing 30 minutes on your own for example. I liked this structured approach and it helped me build a routine and staying with it on the days where I really wasn't feeling it or whatever. I had several stretches of 2-3 months of meditating every morning and that's when I started noticing occasional, subtle changes in my perception that seemed to have a sort of rippling effect. It's definitely not as smooth or rigorous as benzos but I do think there's a slight similarity in the sense that you're still aware that everything is terrible but it affects you differently and you're able to sort of hang into it or something.
  17. When it comes to certain foods some people seem to take diarrhoea as a given. I’m slowly becoming some people.
  18. I've got a bunch of info to share but need some time to put it together comprehensively. Re; the velocity zones, are you crossfading them or hard switching?

  20. Despite all the moaning and groaning I tend to do around here I had one of those magical bar nights were the conversations flowed without becoming restrictive or weird and topped the night off buying some records that I'll get to play to the same bar people in a couple of weeks (who by then will in no doubt have turned into a bunch of non-appreciating phillistines but it's all good)(for now)).
  21. You're most definitely right about premeditating not being helpful and it does get easier and you sort of make peace with the mess or whatever. Good luck with the psych, I do feel that the older I get and the more psychs I've seen the more potential there is to benefit from each cycle (or whatever one might name it). Cheers man, it's really good to get a heartfelt response when throwing something into the void like that. Sorry if getting too sappy here. Through what I've gleaned through your watmm persona you really seem like a stand-up dude, I could never sustain myself let alone thrive somewhat in the working environment you're in. I've worked in AV for 6 years or so in my twenties and it was ok but it was on land and being able to work with a greater diversity of peeps and seeing like-minded people in my free time made all the difference. Keep that sociopath flag flying high!
  22. The amount of verbal padding I feel I need to be able to start a conversation with anyone about how I feel about anything is fucking ridiculous and I’ve just realised this has to be my problem and not, as I’d sort of assumed up til now, someone else’s. A few years shy from 40, psychotherapy since kindergarten and yet here’s another fucking mundane but major goddamn obstacle. I’m so sick of this shit. I’m a gracelessly failing pasty sack of bones and meat without a trace of tenderness or humour, pretending to be a person. Tldr; melodramatic man-baby time.
