  1. Vinyl and CD reissue coming in June this year on Mille Plateaux. Has remained a staple part of my listening habits since I first picked up the re-release back in 2004. Haven't seen it on the their Bandcamp: https://forceincmilleplateaux.bandcamp.com/ but it's up for pre-order in the usual places. https://www.normanrecords.com/records/121115-thomas-koner-nuuk
  2. This is on my watch list, maybe one for tonight. I like Curtis, despite his faults, I'll always find something useful to pick up and explore. Century of the Self and All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace have always been the ones I've returned to the most. Your comment reminded me of this parody video of Curtis' style
  3. Nice! I was missing BOYZ, Bass and Tone and 13. Thanks for uploading. I'm sure Unseen_Werk 1 will turn up.
  4. New album on Rush Hour arriving in May. Only one track up so far, and sounding good. From the Far Future Pt. 3 was a stonking LP, so happy to be getting another so soon.
  5. Very nice track. Pre-ordered. I spotted Rojus and Music for the Uninvited as I was tidying records yesterday, totally missed his move to Ninja Tune and the last album.
  6. 100%. VOD are great, but I'm not sure this will ever get listened to on Vinyl. A CD reissue package would have been better. Let's see if I'll be as resolute when I see some pictures.
  7. 10 years? Feels like yesterday. Fantastic singer. One of the bands I always remember the day I bought each album.
  8. I'd really like to watch this, need to just see how. Bloody HBOmax though. Good series, interesting take over the usual format. Woeful policing, pretty shocking how the police presented and treated the majority of the victims.
  9. I need to pick this up, it's been on my bandcamp list, but have yet to pull the trigger. A good reminder to check the album out. I really liked EP2. I really liked this album, but it dropped off of rotation. Need to get this back on again, I love all of her albums, she's very much in the insta buy category. Nice list, will take a listen to your playlist today. Soccer Mommy is on by want list, really liked the actress remix of Crawling Under My Skin. The Avery + Cortini is an awesome album, picked up a really cheap copy recently, as I made the mistake of only getting the digitals first time round. Need to check out the other albums, especially White Poppy. Purchased. Never heard of them before, but this really clicked. Thanks for posting. I really love this track. Nice layout and list.
  10. Norman Records are great. They seem to genuinely love a wide range of music. A nice and diverse selection of genres. Bonus points for not having any prattling reviews like some sites... So much good music and new artists discovered this year, been spending a lot of time with the below. Not all 2020, but so what. Autechre - SIGN / PLUS Tiombé Lockhart - The Aquarius Years Actress - Karma + Desire Terrence Dixon - FTFF3 Kate NV - Room for the Moon Cinder Well - No Summer MJ Guider - Sour Cherry Bell Jessy Lanza - All the Time Millsart - Every Dog Has Its Day (5 through 13) 輕描淡寫 x Kuroi Ame - 眼泪含泪 (on Pure Life) Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou - May Our Chambers Be Full Galya Bisengalieva - Aralkum HTRK (some wicked Bandcamp releases, and I'm still listening to Venus in Leo on the regular) MoMA Ready (Will be picking up a lot more from him next year) Jeannine Schulz (All releases this year, worth checking out if you like your tape hiss ambient warmth https://jeannineschulz.bandcamp.com/music) Joanne Robertson (only discovered her this year, been picking up stuff where possible, love Black Moon Days) Barbra Streisand (I'd have laughed if someone told me I'd add her to my record collection, but the 60's run of albums make for some relaxing listening)
  11. Had a crush on Lucinda Dickey after that film, shout out for Ninja III: The Domination Might have to watch Breakin' this weekend.
  12. Damn, I watched Chaka Kahn "I Feel For You" vid yesterday. Wondered what he was doing. R.I.P.
  13. Good thread. Cappadonna's contribution to Winter Warz has gotta be up there for me.
  14. Bill Burr wasn't as jarring as I expected him to be, and I'd have to agree with you @realthanks he was great in that scene. I've disliked Star Wars for a long time, but have been pleasantly surprised by the Mandalorian. Only started watching it 3 weeks ago, so late to the party, but it's been great fun so far.
  15. Couldn't agree more. One of the classic 90's album, captures a moment in time, and vibe, perfectly. It's their most accomplished album. I would have picked this myself, the drumming across Reggatta de Blanc is... Copeland gets bonus points for writing the Equalizer theme too.
  16. Tune, such a good album. Shame they never hit this level again (IMO) Hell on Earth was a good follow up, but there's not one duff track on The Infamous.
  17. This sounds pretty good. I picked up his first album Dance Slow, and the Vertigo Contracto 12" (Holed Up on side b is a wicked) but haven't really followed him since then.
  18. Only one listen so far. It's good, there's some very nice tracks on here. Certainly has that feel of some of the Twitter tracks he's released. Happy I bought this, t-shirt is wicked too. The piano makes an appearance in some of the tracks, and there are a few fast tempo pieces on here, Try Again and Errr!, sort of juke vibe to my ears. Errr! is absolutely wicked, probably fave track at the moment. Beautiful slow piano refrain behind frenetic beats, and when the string/pads drop coming up to the 8 min mark... pretty epic. Promo sounds like he's sampled the the beat from I Can't Go For That, keep expecting Daryl Hall to start crooning.
  19. It arrived today, t-shirt is very nice, though looks like a big M to me. It was very easy to access the album, no too much faffing about. About to take a listen now.
  20. You need to buy the shirt. It's on the pricey side, but the t-shirt does look good. It ships from the States, but with December and COVID, might take a while. I did get a dispatch note straight away Friday, so fingers crossed.
  21. Sisko is my favourite Captain, I think he has a great character arc over the 7 seasons. Jake can be a little annoying at times, but you don't get many shows that have quite a positive view of single parent, father and son relationship. It's quite tender in places. Wait for some Jake and Nog high jinks, and some self sealing stem bolts. Ahhh Dax, aka the "one with the slug", is awesome. However, she would face being cancelled in today's cultural appropriation wars, for the fetishisation of Klingon culture. Before re-starting Voyager Season 1, I did watch the 2 parter Future's End the other night. I forgot how good some of the Voyager episodes could be, and that ep was easily up there with the other series. Love a bit of temporal prime directive shenanigans, and capitalism is bad, bad dudes.
  22. In the interest of continued peace in the Alpha Quadrant, I will happily re-watch Voyager, and I hope you will watch DS9 ? I'm not a fan of JJ Abrams, always found his work "meh", and I think he missed the point with Star Trek with the films. I managed 2 episodes of Discovery, but it was just full of 'plosions and people running around corridors. You've got a whole galaxy - and time - to play with, and they keep trying to add to the history around TOS. That being said, I did finally get around to watching Enterprise this year, and bar a patchy first season, I really enjoyed it, though that last episode... I'd like to see a Trek series that has something a little bit more positive to say about the future, showing us being the "better angels of our nature". Have a show that can act as a pull to get people into science, and fit in some of the great discoveries from astronomy and physics from the last decade.
