The Magus by John Fowles A bit Tales of the Unexpected, but its does the psychological reeling in of one of the main characters immensely. Is it madness or magic or both? Mint/10

i fkn love that batch of lp's Fila Brazilia put out on Pork mid-late 90's, Power Clown had an artwork booklet that was funny as fuck, but went its own way with my own copy, every lp from that period has real gems Pork itself put out so much good music, i'd expect to see it referenced on a site like this more often......like the mellower end/version of Weatherall/2 Lone Swordsmen add EM:T from Nottingham & a few more that cross-pollinated, Pork did a few nights around the north insaniac mon/tues uber comedown grooves, god i'm old The Hafler Trio - Cleave: 9 Great Openings.......as good as drone will ever get, similar to "Sumac" by J Coleclough & Andrew Chalk, ideal for a clear moonlit winter night

Taboo - Peaky Blinders meets Dickens meets early 19thC stereotypes with a sprinkle of Heart of Darkness looks respectable, set design wise, although Tom Hardy hams it oop in nearly every scene (and dint the wardrobe folks look @ his hat n think "naaaaaah"?) of course ep2 will be watched

Hitler's death day, as good a time as any barring Trump dropping a nuke on North Korea or some other dumb shit, the return of Lynch is like a gift from the gods see, it can be a benevolent universe at times

would folks want big-brand/corporate buds? seems the pattern of merkin corporatism generally in other matters, although PKD's "Land of Smiles" brand is crying out for a backer (step forward Ed Rosenthal) Ayn Rand & the Objectivists would surely be v v proud- 22,233 replies

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ my old man had a copy of that in his vinyl vault, shame we were never trusted to use them unsupervised.....the consequences of drunkenly ruining his rarest Gerry Mulligan lp as a teenager this has been on repeat in the car over various longer drives recently

Time Commanders......words fail. Greg Wallace looks like he's done a gram of ching, excitably psychotic military historians, Napoleon Total War tweaks so like Master-chef on crack (without food)

A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence - 1st viewing was on high doses of morphine, so vague & scrambled fractions to say the least 2nd viewing - so many elements make it work, the range of characters from the morose failed business sellers trudging cul-de-sacs trying to flog "novelty fun" items with their pale faces, King Charles XII and his cavalry entourage sauntering thru mid-scene, the amorous dance teacher molesting her unwilling male student, the colour schemes, the past in the present (see Charles XII again), an absolute joy even if it does dead-pan better than just about any other filem these eyes have seen. 11/10.....unmissable so much so Gothenburg is now a must visit for the next 12/18months

cant verify sorry & not enough free time to go thru all the live material uploaded after a more critical delve into what could be gleamed so far, the interviews seem the more engaging 1 or 2 duplicates from previous uploads, but this one covers a good range of topics & reinforces how rapidly JB's mental health deteriorated in the months following

2 different youlube users have uploaded quite a lot of Coil material in recent months, the "Coil Archiver" and "thujone2" (hope these link up ok): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1egEBbAzrgp1Raw6PwEhKg/videos https://www.youtube.com/user/thujone23/videos?shelf_id=2&sort=dd&view=0 1 or 2 of the vid comments suggest a link to Black Sun, either way as much of the live footage isnt on a par with CSO, the interviews are the real aces in the proverbial pack. Insights on ideologies are teased out with more clarity than is available elsewhere, so barring serious academic interest (shame on you musicologists) there are some intriguing pointers and insights among the mass of material available via these 2 accounts

would recommend Christopher Partridge's "The Lyre of Orpheus" for a read brimming with ideas, theory & masses of case studies, if this kind of thing floats yer boat its scope is wide enough for interdisciplinary parallels & specific enough to explore music, the sacred & the profane (or propane if you're Little Carmine) its v good for a full interpretative analysis of how & why such themes manifest in individual/collective psyches, the only thing it really misses is a chapter on archaeology & antiquarianism another cracking read is "Landmarks" by Robert Macfarlane, a linguistic exploration of landscapes, place-names & Britain/Eire, if water-filled archaeological dig trenches get u aroused https://www.google.co.uk/#safe=off&q=landmarks+robert+macfarlane

disc golf looks fuckin mint have played a tree ball game with a tennis ball, semi-equivalent as a kid, except u just had to hit the target, few vapes could def inspire "lets throw shit at shit" modes of thought throwing things is an anthropological universe rarely covered in academia -
