oy. i just plunkered a chunk of change on a fmwt vinyl. that being said i hope it’s a repress. i just assumed there was some reason it hadn’t been repressed yet ?
  3. i think they want to encourage people to buy the vinyl version
  4. obviously no one else is lol. i do wonder if they listened to it twice or just clicked on accident. anyway, if you're watching, hi mike!
  5. Mark fell has a book coming out btw, preordered already https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/structure-and-synthesis
  6. Yeah that article made me cringe. I met mark fell once. He was friendly and aloof at the same time. Would recommend.
  7. variance does sound a little too polished. prefer the older stuff.
  8. That is one of my favorite scenes of all time. Regardless of anything else Michael Cera has done but that scene cements him as an all time great in my eyes . I feel like quoting a part of the scene but I’d probably end up quoting the whole thing. “My dharma is the road, you dharma is...”
  9. might be more pricey than you'd like but i love my universal audio apollo stuff. the apollo x4 has 4 inputs. its also a money pit with all the tasty plugins.
  10. its best to run your tongue across the grooves with the turntable rotating at 45rpm to check for aberrations
  11. ok yeah i have seen that video before. i am highly conflicted with how this person can be such a punchable deuschbro and also make pretty authentic sounding jungle/be a retro gearhead at the same time.
  12. i dont know who pete cannon is either but i like his faceplate the best. the other ones i'd be kinda embarrassed to have other people see. if they could just issue that without the pete cannon logo, it'd be dope. though i also agree if i was going to use a tracker i'd probably stick with renoise and not this. still seems like a cool idea and i support the endeavor
  13. big brain is philosophical while farnsworth is technical. they are the ying and yang of nasal gazing pontification.
  14. not knocking this, its cool that something like its is available in in max4live, but also pointing out that something similar has been in Supercollider for ages https://doc.sccode.org/Tutorials/Getting-Started/16-Sequencing-with-Patterns.html
  15. yeah agreed this would be dope if it works triggered for sure
  16. It's like attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, C-beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like loops in the rain.
  17. my takeaways from all of this disintegration loops in 2001/2002 is basically what all of the artists were listening to this is music that is influencing new music being made music that arises at certain moments gathers a weight from that moment. it's not easy as an artist to connect your work to tragedy because you run the risk of saying "i'm turning something tragic into an aesthetic experience" william basinski is an ambient artist elevated to a modern composer who is like an icon we cant go back to the loop that we had yesterday, in the same way we can't really know what the loop tomorrow will be
