  1. my takeaways from all of this disintegration loops in 2001/2002 is basically what all of the artists were listening to this is music that is influencing new music being made music that arises at certain moments gathers a weight from that moment. it's not easy as an artist to connect your work to tragedy because you run the risk of saying "i'm turning something tragic into an aesthetic experience" william basinski is an ambient artist elevated to a modern composer who is like an icon we cant go back to the loop that we had yesterday, in the same way we can't really know what the loop tomorrow will be
  2. found some photos of that event on facebook
  3. Looks like a good chunk of the Jega catalog got added to bandcamp https://jega.bandcamp.com/ geometry and spectrum are classics. gotta pull my copies off the shelf! i met him in SF once when he played in the basement of a bar in chinatown. some stories exist from that night for sure.
  4. ive been paying for some version of soundcloud that apparently isnt good enough because they keep trying to get me to upgrade. also they keep trying to get me to pay to listen to stuff. and they are popping up huge modal windows about some kind of career seminar or something. im not sure how it could be more terrible. also- sorry for derailing the thread the last time you asked about this ?
  5. the pandemic stress one is for real also the 50 biker is for real, just read about that. whats crazier is that its a non story... guy cgi's his head willy nilly and its no big deal. just another friday.
  6. ended up watching this. was pretty cool how he just broke out a bogdan melody right in the middle without even trying. the unit itself looks pretty cool, wish i had the time to switch paradigms willy-nilly. thx for dropping the em411 on the polyend, BR!
  7. i pulled the album off the shelf after reading this but i couldnt get into it. some of mu-ziqs albums are just a tad too goofy for me. lunatic harness is definitely one of my favorites though, tango n'vectif is classic and i really like a lot of the tracks off of someset ave. the frost jockey stuff is also pretty dope imo
  8. Stumbled across this. Haven’t had a chance to watch it yet but even though I’m not a big gear demo fan I will have watch this whole thing for anthropological purposes. https://sonicstate.com/news/2021/03/19/presentation-polyend-tracker-with-bogdan-raczynski/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SonicstatecomNews+(Sonicstate.com+News)

  11. if you havent heard systemisch, drop whatever you're doing and go listen to it
  12. I’m selling my watmm posts in a series I’m calling “burger werks”
  13. looking forward to this: https://sisterswithtransistors.com/ also-
  14. i prordered the wax trax single red vinyl and im happy with that. i dont need to spend $$$ on this and also kinda tired of albums spread across 2+ records for no reason. as much as i enjoy flipping vinyl, its nice to listen to half an album per side. also, this competing anniversary edition business is getting out of hand. was bad with global communication (bought both oy) but not going to bite with this one. that being said those picture discs are pretty hot.
  15. hateful 8 borrowed a lot from reservoir dogs, including plot points and the limited use of sets. reservoir dogs was on a limited budget but obviously just a stylistic choice in hateful 8. i think a lot of what tarantino focuses on is wondering what the dialog is between all these characters during down time between the action. sometimes that really clicks with people like in pulp fiction but i can understand how hateful 8 was harder to get through. i saw death proof in the theaters as part of the double feature. it was definitely an experience to go from planet terror, which was over the top, to death proof. a lot of people walked out.
  16. coverup ...also, i couldnt stand working on the floor. i know alessandro cortini has/had a bunch of stuff on the floor and it looks like richard devine does too. that would drive me nuts.
