  1. Ketamine is very commonly used as a first line anaesthetic when you're well and truly fucked. When I work in blood bank at night, a trauma pager connected to emergency services lets me know situations ahead of hospital arrival. If I see "ketamine administered", I know it's bad and that I'm about to have a bad time as well lol. It sounds fucked up to stack it all together: "beaten and injected with ketamine" and I don't know the full circumstances. Those paramedics likely did him a favor by k-holing him now that we know how it was going to turn out.
  2. Jesus, did anyone do "I Know This Much is True" on HBO? Mark Ruffalo does double duty as a twin set. It starts off very good, which hooked me in. Holy fuck I wound up laughing by the end because I've never seen something be so unrelenting in its misery. It verges on satire with how hard it goes. That said--Mark killed it, the direction was great and I fully predict Emmy nods coming his way.
  3. If I had to be pinned to the wall to pick one GC track forever more, it would be "9:25". It still feels very modern to me and the funky flip at 5:01 remains one of the most pro moves ever. When I got my first computer, I made .wav loops of my favorite tunes. The 5:01-5:45 bit was one of the first loops I made and one of the most heavily played back in the ol '98 or so.
  4. Say what you will about the yokel hoedown but the moppy blond is pulling off a very passable running man by the end.
  5. The other Kirk pics are ok but that initial one has seriously infiltrated my mind. Messy side-ponies are hot to me anyway but I want to eat that chick alive man. She ain't even real! I'm no longer suited for this new AI world of trickery and deceit.
  6. I'm in the same boat. I am making tracks that really make me happy but I get embarrassed by how my finished work sounds next to shit I really respect in terms of production quality (Clark, Aphex, Machinedrum, etc). After struggling with applying mastering tidbits to my own tracks, it seems like a bangin choon idea/arrangement/etc is only 20% of the battle. What difference does it make how good the song is if it's anemic as fuck? Anywayz, following thread...
  7. Tom's on furlough--now's the time to strike! He hongry (lol doubt it).
  8. Bahaha it sounds like when garbage trucks do the overhead emptying of huge bins. That's some velocity if just 1 Slav pulls off that racket.
  9. There was a Jordan Peterson meme posted one time and the name of the file was: "rescue your father from the underworld bucko.jpeg" or something like that. I remember laughing so hard at that and then this movie literally became that filename and I could barely contain myself for the duration. I can't remember a time that I both cringed at and admired a movie; cinematography was incredible.
  10. Been laughing pretty hard at Dr. Autechre.
  11. The end of that nonbinary video sums up identity politics these days...somebody's about to blindly yell in your face with no regard for discourse or understanding lol. It's not easy to do it all: even genius ginger nuts recruited Chris Cunningham and Weirdcore to make a visual aesthetic to match the audio and it's been some of the most memorable shit eva. The videos Arca is coming up with are awesome. Even though the devil one felt like HIV on a screen, the colors and execution kept me entranced. All of the mechanical performance art and whatnot really does look wicked and groundbreaking in the "nonbinary" video but the choons--sorry to say--seems to lag behind the window dressing. Let's have a listen to the whole thing but 99% sure I'll be wishing for an instrumental.
  12. Best move you could possibly make....If the shits get here. I trust hayhook though because he's so plugged into the lore that I'm not so sure he isn't a Tom or Mark alt. account at this point.
  13. I just got back from Israel-Palestine thread that has about a good of a chance of surviving as the peace agreements themselves and it reminded me to follow up with that this show was really good. I appreciated the tight, 6 episode pacing and it gave me a lot to think about.
  14. This looks like an ISIS training video except for mail order brides-to-be
  15. Paul "Bear" Vasquez aka "Double Rainbow guy" has died. I have always non-ironically loved this video and it was from the best time of YouTube
  16. Big part of my 90s youth there. Would buy the whole disc if I saw "F.E.O.S. Mix" anywhere in the track titles
  17. One of my favorite memories is sharing this with a couple of new friends some years ago. One of the guys fucked something up and said "whep" just like when John forgets the lyrics at 1:34. To this day, it's an internal meme in our group to indicate any failure with "whep".
  18. When I went to Honolulu, I got asked for a "local card" at every transaction. They have like a two-tiered system: you pay a lower price for things if you're local vs. what the tourists pay. It's a shame other popular metros like Sydney don't follow a similar plan
  19. We did it WATMM! Staying true to the lineage of Cylob, Venetian Snares, WAEdding and "Rare Pics of RDJ"
  20. As a species, we've done quantum leaps before when the conditions demanded it but vaccine pipelines operate in decades currently. Like a moon landing, it would be cool to see the world pull in one direction and develop an effective vaccine but I don't think it's gonna be in the cards. This concludes today's cold piss shower.
  21. How this band kept a straight face I have no idea. I've watched this about 10 times straight in awe of this lad. Undoubtedly the best part for me now is his visible preparation just before the first lyrics
  22. It's hard to imagine the BOC bucks getting them by this long though? Every other old guard enterprise is still out there grinding: Richard scooping up festival coins into a fanny pack, Tom on the road and releasing, Ae transcending time and space, etc. Are they just more greedy? Do the Sandisons live like Ted Kaczynski by a creek somewhere? If they wouldn't mind uploading a Turbo Tax file and a household budget spreadsheet, that would be helpful.
  23. I'm on the inside since I'm a lab rat and we rotate as "COVID point guard" to prepare the swabs for send-out testing. We don't have in-house capability yet. Interestingly, the positive rate has stayed conserved at 4% even as total swab count increases day by day. I had some days off so it will be interesting to see if this changes next week.
