Put BARKER 001 and 002 together and baby you got a stew goin'. Sam just doesn't miss--it's remarkable. Not a single track he's put out on his own that I don't like. I liked Baumecker and Barker well enough back in the day but it's like he's on some asymptotic shit into a new realm of quality.

Did anyone consider that Tom might channel his inner George Lucas and really go ham on this remaster? Imagine a Fruity Loops style effects suite called "Ufabulizer". Sidechained, squashed and bricked into right and left pylons hahaha.

New countdown, new release? [Aphex Twin Warp Store]
xxx replied to Time Tourist's topic in Aphex Twin
Based on the still shot that the infamous shoop was created with, you got the feeling that she was a no-nonsense Latina who was done with your shit. Seeing her irl anime eyes and smile completely changes that. I wonder what else she went on to do in late 90s LA. -
Madonn! I checked Amazon for any Bochum Welt digitals on a lark and found this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UBOITAS/ref=dm_ws_sp_ps_dp Based on the names of the gals, it looks like Gian was doing some pop business inside Italy outside the watchful eyes of the IDM contingent. Well, no shame in this game--best $0.99 I've spent in ages and the track slaps. A poofed bagini on display never hurts either.

Yeah I was looking to purchase a few things to hem up my Cylob discography and this turned up. Lax policing at the ol' Archive it seems.
-
Is this kosher? https://archive.org/details/Cylob As far as I can tell, it's his entire (VBR) discography in a zip on the Internet Archive under a "No Copyright" designation.

It's not fully appropriate to laugh but this is perfect. I've mentioned it elsewhere before but "crying on the dancefloor" is a legit aesthetic I look for. Hump in peace.

If I was more clever, I would love to do a fat Tom Jenkinson in the inset. I am forever impressed with fat Leonardo

Hell of a ride. It should have the additional title: "How I Got my Bell Tolled". It's not supposed to be funny but it becomes something of a running joke when you count up just how many concussions/head injuries figure into his life--nevermind the oceans of booze and the electroconvulsive therapy near the end of his life. For such a remarkable brain, he sure did his best to wreck it. Eh, maybe not a TV series...it was in 3 parts on PBS. Well, whatever, I've come this far.

Bahaha I like Andy and don't mean to take too much piss but I was chuckling to myself about which direction he wanted to go visually. Do we want to go full Raster Noton IDM with the graphics or some kind of jellyhead chavcore rap? He chucked it all in for good measure lol.

This makes for an interesting thought experiment. You may have something of a super power if you're factor deficient for instance. Your inability to form competent clots may help dodge that effect. If it's in the "hypercoagulable" side of things like Factor V Leiden, it makes covid even scarier than it already is. You don't have to answer with your personal health info. I work in a clinical lab and that was the scariest effect I was able to personally observe. People got admitted with perfectly normal "bleeding" metrics and I could watch them get rekt within hours.

Danny Elfman as RDJ aesthetic inspiration 1. The "angry grin" 2. 0:42 little people approaching him (Come to Daddy) 3. 1:33 legs and pillows (pom pom scene in Windowlicker)

I know Ariel is persona non grata but I've been a huge fan of his music for a long time now. Her contributions to "Dedicated to Bobby Jameson" really enhanced the album. She absolutely made the track "Kitchen Witch" imo. Anyway, it's the definition of crush because stuff like this pic, "Kitchen Witch" and her track "One Spring Evening" just make my heart do teenaged stuff. I should also add that it's a repulsive sensation at 42 and when will I be free from this flesh prison?

Man I knew Rich would be on this hella fast. It's right up his alley haha. Kings of Leon NFT'd an album for 6 million and it sold. This is so surreal as to almost not be believed. It feels more like a tax or wealth protection scheme available only to the ballers out there.

This second dose is not a game. It was unusual in that my arm got immediately sore--less than 5 minutes after injection. The first dose was no different than a standard vaccination; like a 2 out of 10 on soreness scale on the next day. I got the second jab yesterday at 0730. By 0030 that night, it's exactly like the flu: restlessness that goes into muscle pains, chills, runny nose. Everyone is different but use that 17 hour lag time to clean up, get snacks, etc. 24 hours out and feeling proper shite. I'm at 102F (39C) currently. What I hate most is the low-key delerium/neuropsych stuff that comes with these states. Some theorize that inflammatory states and poor sleep could be behind up to 80% of the psychiatric diagnostic corpus. Anyway, I'm extremely grateful for my 5G chip and this experience is like hand in glove with the new Adam Curtis doc, which I just wrapped up. We're all gonna be(obey)ok ?

Man does that bring back deep memories to see that date and design. I'm really thankful you took the time to dig that up. Homework was a big album for me then too. It came out in January but it didn't make it around here until that Spring. '97 just huge all around (RDJ album, Hard Normal Daddy, Lunatic Harness, Chiastic Slide, wowwowweewow) *old men discussing weird music from the 90s. Now all that "weird" music is vanguard and most of 'em rich af currently. I bet at least 100 million USD net worth with those names.
-
Speaking of the theme of simplifying cognition and control: ever notice how Adam Curtis is actually expanding the first 12 minutes of the movie "Magnolia" into like a 17 hour canon? Also..."and I know you're gonna dig this-thi-this"...Curtis essentially made a documentary that supports Jordan Peterson's overall thesis. It's because everybody is drinking from the same wells (Jung, Kahneman, Skinner, Freud, et al). Bring on the burgers, Picards and Farnsworths.

Thank you @dr lopezfor doing the best possible representation I could imagine in a case like this. "Old guys discussing weird music from the 90s" is not only the best "executive summary" for the normcore out there but should also probably be the official site description. I'm really glad we all got to grow up together on this site. Because the idea of people bonding in a text and meme fashion online is still a novel thing, it's not obvious how to do other human things with it like grieve. I'm glad Salv's outernet got to hear that we really loved him.

Dance label R&S Records accused of racial discrimination
xxx replied to Berk's topic in Music Discussion
I can't find the controversy in his responses. It's weird to say "pure breed black" but if English isn't his first language, it could be some clunky Dutch/English issues. -
Man, when they start roasting to the tune of BIPP at 1:45, it really got me.

It seems that SOPHIE died. Just looking at some Twitter sources so I don't know how legit it is but...man, just got an Autechre remix. That's going out on top I guess.
