  1. Bolthouse Farms - Green Goodness smoothie. This is the drink that's been saving my life for the last 3 or 4 years. I don't get nearly enough fruit or veg in my diet, but I buy a litre of this every time I'm in the supermarket.
  2. Yeah, Aenima is excellent start to finish, jokey tracks included. Lateralus is about 75% excellent up to and including the song Lateralus, and that's where the album should have ended.
  3. David Berman of Silver Jews, age 52. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/silver-jews-david-berman-dead-obituary-868824/ Cause of death is as of yet unconfirmed, though rumoured to be suicide.
  4. Vocal effects and doubles are cool. I just find autotune in this style of music to be distasteful. it's not how I like to hear vocals in rock/metal, unless it's done in an interesting way.
  5. I wasn't expecting it to bring anything new to the table. it's just nice hearing more Tool after such a long absence. I like it more than anything off 10,000 Days after one listen. Really loving the monster fuzz tone guitar treatment, and how the swells towards the start sound more like organ than guitar. The blend between all instruments is reeeeeally nice. I hated the mix on 10,000 Days, so I'm just relieved to hear that the songs will be showcased in the best light, regardless of how Tool-by-numbers they may be. At least, where the instruments are concerned... vocals sounded autotuned to perfect hell, which is unfortunate. Ideally after all that time Maynard would have done enough takes for it to not be necessary. I mean... surely they'd sound fine without any of that BS? He can nail it live so I just don't understand the reasoning behind a choice like that.
  6. Ian Gibbons, Kinks keyboardist: https://metro.co.uk/2019/08/02/kinks-keyboardist-ian-gibbons-dead-aged-67-10507862/ The last 3 albums I listened to in my van were all Kinks, albeit ones released before Ian was a member.
  7. I dare you to sign up (any of you). But you have to record your Skype meetings and post them here obvs.
  8. I vaguely recall trying that butter thing when I was out of cream, and it wasn't gross. But it wasn't better than cream. By cream I mean evaporated milk, because that's what I'm into.
  9. So it occurred to me that I'd never tried running a second cup of coffee through the same grinds in a mocha pot, and decided I would give it a shot since I had nothing to lose other than my dignity. I didn't have high hopes, but since the mocha pot makes a hella strong cup of coffee I thought there might still be something worth salvaging. But no, just watery swill, undrinkable, dumped after 2 sips. Anyway, I've tried it now so that you don't have to. Spread the word.
  10. If watmm were a human being it could be halfway to a college degree by now and/or starring in porn. "Like" if you've been posting here for 20 years.
  11. Dude, that wasn't a dream.

  13. Been getting my ass handed to me by a couple Scrabble opponents who I used to beat on the regular. It hurts.
  14. The figure in the new wetransfer.com gif for finished uploads looks like a topless woman with long flailing tits and no arms jumping on a trampoline.
  15. I have 2 walkmans and a small stereo that can all play cassetes and all sound fucking terrible. So i can play cassettes but would rather not.
  16. Aha - now I get the joke from that misgendering thread.
  17. My computer desktop appears to have been replaced by a gaping black void, and the top portion of my browser with minimize, close etc. no longer appear when I hover my mouse up there. There is no longer any means of escape from the internet, and I am afraid the dank memes thread will consume me at any moment.
  18. Yeah I took in way too much of this page way too fast.
  19. Sent an album out to 15 labels a couple weeks ago (reviewed 40 to see who actually accepts unsolicited demos, etc.), and so far not a single one has pressed play. Several of them claim to listen to everything they receive, but I call bullshit. At least the days where you had to waste resources on CDRs and postage each time are over. And now you can know with certainty that they didn't even give it a chance, rather than just making pessimistic assumptions.
  20. Sounds sexy. Lush atmospheres. Apparently I can hit and sustain a D# an octave above middle CD in full voice. I recall a time when C was a stretch. Had no idea my range had developed that much. Must be something to do with all the time I spend responding to my cats by imitating them as accurately as possible (we get this echo call and response thing going).
  21. Stars Just listened to their Set Yourself on Fire album for the first time in probably more than 5 years. It's damn good. Slightly musical theatre tinted at points, but they do it very well/unabashedly.
  22. I'm going to play up the serial killer aspect of my next ID shot, and see if it turns out semi-normal looking for once.
