  1. "We're hitting the resonator with an electromagnetic hammer" - that's pretty cool actually, I guess they're just switching on and off an electromagnet really quick instead of physically hitting it with a hammer.. But also makes me wonder why they wouldn't just put some simple physical key action in there as well. Though it somehow weirds me out that they're calling it "acoustic synthesis" lol - is an electric guitar also acoustic synthesis? A pianola? By the way was that forked tine shape they're showing ever used in any of the classic electric pianos? Re: Erica Steam Pipe: finally people are getting around to doing 1% of what Yamaha VL did 30 years ago... (don't mean to diss it though, I'm happy for any and all attention that physmod synthesis gets)
  2. Great sounds, liking the first part of Agrifate especially (scratch that I dig the whole of it).
  3. By the way here's a stretch of tape with some melody-driven boom-tsck tracks lightly transitioning into each other, ending with some dungeon-ish stuff. The visual accompaniment is made with a CPPN which however does not get any audio or rhythmic input (but you would hardly notice ;)). And here's a long-form (well, medium-form by IDM standards) improvisation over a melodic theme. This time the visuals are audio-driven, which does lead to some cool moments though overall I don't feel I've really tamed this CPPN stuff yet.
  4. Another su10 track
  5. PSP puzzle game music ? great stuff
  6. Syntakt as a 3-voice polysynth, definitely worth the required midi trickery. Additional drums (besides syntakt) from Tanzbar Lite, and Monologue on the bass.
  7. Oh well that explains that one time I saw him at a festival and it was way too loud for me to enjoy lol. Don't overlook Radio Amor btw if we're doing album recs.
  8. Nice, what I previewed so far reminds me quite a bit of Michael Stearns' Encounter.
  9. Damn, takes me back. Was one of my favourite Goon tracks as well.
  10. Ah yes I remember digging ArtificialDisco's tracks on here not too long ago, will check this out ?
  11. It's cool, especially like the origami one. It's a bit jittery for my taste though, but I guess that's what you get when you use a program made for generating static images in this way.
  12. On the topic of matrix mixers: http://mapmap.ch/index.php/ongoing/landline/
  13. Lofi thingy featuring a heavy expander that somehow sounds very vocoder-like (even though it's not even multiband).
  14. https://www.discogs.com/master/78905-La-Monte-Young-The-Well-Tuned-Piano-81-X-25-61750-111859-PM-NYC The strength of drones he manages to get out of just a piano is really incredible.
  15. Uhh, somehow uploaded to wrong yt account Saxophone techno
  16. https://www.discogs.com/release/21157537-PST-Untitled porn sword tobacco album from 2021 on Workshop
  17. Sound design is all over the place what with the stereo drum hits and distortion and spectral (??) stuff, I like it though, that heavy organ sound and the overall groove makes it sound almost like some nu-jazz/fusion track. Bloops and twinkles near the end also fit with that.
  18. I think you should patch your neutron ? Nice tune though, I like the synth part around 4:30. Could've used some more hats, maybe..
  19. Super lush. There's some subtle pulsating high noise which is a nice touch.
  20. Very nice track, echoes of all kinds of classic idm things.
  21. Great post. A while ago Sean said on twitch (IIRC) something about how if you don't know what's up then analord sounds just like some random acid tracks. Well I would really like to hear some of these other acid tracks that sound superficially like analord.
  22. https://www.discogs.com/release/257783-Monomorph-Subject-To-Electronic-Control Chill stuff from a D'Arcangelo alias.
  23. Yeah, that's fantastic, so is their Mass Hysterism in Another Situation. Maybe you'll like Masahiko Togashi - Rings, though it's sonically much gentler. Vibracathedral Orchestra maybe. http://www.japanimprov.com/ Wish I could give you better recs, but my j-jazz isn't as organized as it used to be.
  24. ohhhh, that's not intentional.... Hearing Flux for the 1st time now lol, great track needless to say.
