  1. ... except "Everything" that track is just awful, I'll probably end up deleting that one.
  2. I had VERY low expectations for this album when i first heard "Came Back Haunted" on the radio but since then I've warmed up to it... I'm enjoying this it does indeed feel like the first proper NIN album since The Fragile (okay With Teeth if I'm being lenient), yeah it may be a bit poppy but PHM was pretty damn poppy when that came out. And sure some of the lyrics are dull and repetitive but lyrics have never been Trent's strongpoint.
  3. Damn, hope you find something quick or maybe a place that'll let you crash til you do lock something down.
  4. It was pointed out to me that Tool hasn't really been in the studio all at once, since Lateralus... it kinda showed on 10kdays. As far as I know they've been independently tracking this one as well too. I hope that doesn't become a problem again and I hope this album ends up being more cohesive. I forget where I read it but just recently saw something about Maynard saying he knows the album is being worked on but at this point hasn't actually heard any new music yet. I can't help but be a little worried about that. However this album turns out, I feel it will most definitely be their last effort.
  5. I've been enjoying Yellow Swans a lot lately, pretty atmospheric noise, I've fallen asleep to this stuff a few nights lately also Shampoo Boy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQN_LD9ZYso also downloaded and have been enjoying Merzbow's "Merzbeat" album, and recently purchased the Boris & Merzbow collab "Sun Baked Snow Cave" which is truly fantastic! I'm still not quite warmed up to appreciating harsh noise per se (I can listen in small doses here and there), but at this point I can definitely say I enjoy more ambient/atmospheric noise as well as more rhythmic noise too. Any recommendations along that line would be well appreciated.

  7. bought some new vinyl... and my needle decides to go to shit
  8. Lustmord is great, and Blackest Ever Black has become one of my favorite labels recently. That clip sounds great, definitely want this.
  9. The roofers are at it again... today they've got a fucking radio ... and they insist on shouting things from the rooftop to the guy on the ground RIGHT outside my window. These guys sound really fucking stupid, guess it doesn't take much to be a roofer.
  10. Some roofers are working on the roof of the building next door making a shit ton of noise, they got the ladder setup in the space between the buildings right outside our windows. It's not even fucking 7am they've been at it since before 6, pretty sure there's noise regulations against making this much noise before 7. I'd call the cops and complain but I have two things stopping me. 1. The landlord of this building own the building next door and it probably is the group of mexicans that work for him on a lot of the maintnance shit they do around here and 2. by the time the cops get here to tell them to hold off it will be after 7 and I'll feel like an ass for even trying to complain.... Thanks for the wakeup ya fucking fucktards
  11. The Haxan Cloak did a good interview with Loud and Quiet... http://www.loudandquiet.com/2013/08/the-haxan-cloak/
  12. I finished up The Last of Us and Bioshock for a 2nd time, and now I've been re-playing Read Dead Redemption again while anxiously awaiting Batman: Arkham Origins... I'll probably pick up GTA V as well, but I kinda wanna wait for reviews as the whole 3 character single player thing seems messy to me.
  13. Supposedly there will eventually be a Season 3 of Frisky Dingo, they're just waiting til Archer slows down a little
  14. homemade lemonade, squeezed the lemons myself... so damn good.
  15. Been going through a re-watch marathon of Breaking Bad in anticipation of it starting back up, got a few left of the first part of sesaon 5 to watch before Sunday. Also been finally getting into Archer lately.
  16. I haven't looked into much of the other New 52 titles, and I can't speak for the re-boot as a whole but, I did enjoy the Court of Owls arc for Batman. I probably won't follow too much into it beyond that though, I'm still trying to fill in gaps in the 90's era stuff. I have pretty much all the essential Batman trades now and some non-essentials, still need to pick up Hush and The Man Who Laughs though.
  17. Seems my comcast/xfinity modem decided to go to shit (fuck you comcast and your shitty fucking products/service!!!)... thanks for neighbors with unsecured linksys modems though.
  18. I completely agree about Saga. I find all of Brian K Vaughn's stylistic tics really grating, especially the dialogue. Prophet & Mind MGMT are much better SF books. Fatale is really a great book, but my favorite Brubaker & Phillips project is still Criminal. Criminal is fucking amazing, so glad I shelled out for the Omnibus versions... I enjoyed Incognito a lot as well. I haven't yet gotten to Fatale but I've been meaning to. Picked up The Walking Dead vol. 18 a bunch of Batman issues today: Batman Legends of the Dark Knight '93 & '94 Halloween Specials Legends of the Dark Knight #1-6 and #10 Batman: Full Circle
  19. Picked up some harder to find Batman comics from a local shop for a reasonable price... Shit like that makes me happy.
  20. Hanging with the bride, a good friend of mine, at her wedding... despite keeping a decent composure in this picture I'm completely hammered, bride's pretty drunk as well. It was a fun reception, she put card decks on the tables and encouraged drinking games.
  21. Well I didn't just start I actually started last month rather than earlier this month (my concept of time sucks sometimes) But, yeah I know, it is a job and well that's something to hang onto in this recession. I'm not gonna up and walk out on them, but I think I may continue to look around for other options. I've been thinking of going back to school but not for audio production like I had been doing, instead I'd go for a 2 year degree in something. Been considering taking courses to become an EMT and maybe eventually a full Paramedic. Took a career assessment test a couple months back that said I'd probably enjoy that kind of work and I've been giving it some thought lately.
  22. I finally got a job earlier this month after a few months of being unemployed, and I HATE it... I took a job offer doing some data entry and user & client experience testing of a program for the fairly new and growing company my mother works for, and it's terrible. It's not even working for the same company as my mother that's the problem. I just really can't stand this type of work, it's tedious and dull and try as I might I can't seem to get excited about what the company does at all. I feel bad because my mother and the company owner gave me a great opportunity to work for them. There is a lot of potential to grow and expand with the company, and the company has been doing well lately but... It's really not the type of work for me and I know this, I'm pretty certain my mother has become aware of this as well.
  23. First 2 albums and extinguished are modern classics... Amepexian was a good return to quallity, but Security Screenings and Preperations while still listenable don't have that same punch... Haven't really been able to get into The Only She Chapters, lot of experimentaion there without a lot to grab you. Haven't listened to much of his ther projects. I'm curious to see what his new label brings though.
  24. I want to go outside and soak in some sunshine and go biking or rollerblading, but instead I have to wait around inside for a phone meeting...
