DUBSTEP::::::::::

Atop

Recommended Posts

ive got to agree, i dont personally like dubstep, but to respnd to the comment ''you dont get sick of the same shit all the time?'' im a massive techno/house head, like massive, and to someone who doesnt listen all the fuckin time, it all sounds the same i bet, but when you get into it, you get into the subtleties, and also, if the thing being repeated over and over again is a thing that you love beyond belief, it doesnt really get old. seriously nothing makes me happier in music than a beautiful half beat hi-hat kicking in over a bassline of pure groove. if you're not acquainted with techno i can see how its boring as fuck, but if you are..... fuck is it good.

You guys seriously don't get sick of hearing the same old wobbles...the same structured buildups/drops/breaks? That track is very....generic dubstep.

It's like listening to Led Zeppelin (Coki is not as good though), they have a sound, each guitar line is similar but different and I could make out a Zeppelin track over any other rock bands with similar sounds...

I can definitely pick out a Coki track over any other artists...

yes I like what he does with filters and electronic music in general...

all of your tracks sound like they were made by you....and this is what most musicians strive for, their own sound

continue to have your own opinions AP...

cookie monsta? lol. i once nearly got into a fight for insulting his music to his face.

please dont take that comment the wrong way, ignore my opinions on this music, they are irrelevant simply because my taste differs. but cookie monsta is hilarious in real life.

yeah, i don't think i like dubstep... i can dig a few tracks, but for me it's gotten way too cliched.. maybe if i was listening right from the beginning i'd dig it more. I just can't help thinking that the LA beat scene is much more interesting and varied, and it kinda fills that gap in my listening that dubstep would have filled

This is how you do the heavy wobble thing and make it interesting.

That "Puppet Walk" track pretty much encapsulates everything I hate about the myriad of current generic dubstep. It's the kind of song people make when they watch a Youtube tutorial on how to make a wobble but don't actually have an idea for a song.

dude, chill out. it's a different style, it's supposed to be minimalistic and it's actually produced very well.

and "generic " in what sense? how does this fall into any specific category considered "generic dubstep"? that just sounds like an opinion. coki nor the others are generic at all. what if i told you Borgore encapsulates every thing i hate about current generic dubstep? same shit.

and the longer the better, draw that shit oouutt, if it's heavy enough, it doesn't matter who's at the buttons.

EDIT: reso's shit is absolute gold too, just a different style, but i tend to attract to the straight evil tracks AS WELL, and those tend to be pretty minimal, naturally. again, you love it or you hate it, it all depends on the scope of your tastes in music i guess.

Autopilot listens to and makes a shit ton of music....

If we made and listened to as much music as he does than we would know better than to listen to The Others....

Now you know Impotentwhitecapitalist!

All kidding aside, I am not the biggest fan of The Others, but the fact that they have been around for a bit I give them props......

and to celebrate all of this I found an artsy video with two great producers within idm working together to make brutal dubtep>>>>>

yes, the others aren't the best producers ever and certainly don't have the most intricate of songs, but they def have some bangers (i truly only like that puppet walk track i just posted, africa, bushido, ganja man, hear dis style, and light up your spliff) obviously, i'm not making a huge deal out of them, but they do serve you the bass, be it in small increments, between some wack-ass tracks or what—i just like some of their tunes. i guess if you're super srs about your idmz then it's annoying and not for you AT ALL eh?
