Just been picking up some of the classic Hip-Hop albums on vinyl since I no longer have any of the tapes or a tape player. How's this for starters? I know there's probably hundreds of great albums I could buy next, but what are the true classics that are must haves for a collection?

I would consider Busta - Anarchy + The Coming to be worth getting (if you can).

Edit:

Yeah they are easy enough to track down

Anarchy - £6 on Discogs

The Coming - £6.25 on Discogs

Classic:

Aesop Rock - Labor Days

^ produced by Blockhead

Perhaps not considered a classic, quite a recent album too, but a personal recommendation:

Thirsty Fish - Testing The Waters

Was probably my most played thing over the entire summer. It's just a downright fun album, with a fish-theme for some reason. To me it always sounds like the result of a couple of really talented guys messing about and producing a great album as they're having a laugh. Kinda like EKT. They're part of Project Blowed, like Busdriver etc. If you like the crazier stuff by DOOM, like Mm Food or the "happier" tracks on Doomsday, this should be for you.

i'm gonna say real quick that you'll never "need" any aesop rock, sage francis, or anything on anticon. otherwise just get whatever else people in this thread recommend.
