Coming soon apparently.

Environments 3 was about 2/3 newly recorded material so I reckon this will be similar or, fingers crossed, all new. It's been nearly 2 years since they put anything out other than the last of the Archive records, so it seems they're slowly getting back into standard 'album every 18 months' mode again after the madness when FSOLDigital first appeared.

Some material from this was on their last podcast and sounded excellent, probably their most ambient sounding stuff to date.

The smart thing about releasing tracks under the "Archives" flag is that you can release fuck all without having to deal with whiny fanboys crying over the lack of innovation. Brilliant marketing!

The Environments records are intended to be proper albums to listen to alongside their other records. A lot of stuff on them doesn't really sound like anything they'd released before, either, which is why I'm excited by this.

I want. Just downloaded their Electric Brain Storms Vol. 7, not at all what I was expecting, very atmospheric and ambient, apparently lots of E4 tracks on it. Would like to hear the first 6 (or is it 7?) volumes but they have disappeared from FSOlDigital now.

Apparently the licensing of tracks on them was costing too much money to keep selling them, which is why EBS7 is all FSOL/side-projects/friends. There were 7 more as there was a pre-EBS show which ended up named EBS0.5

Yeah, I had a look on Discogs, I will have to try and track them down... somehow...

Superb news for a Monday morning. The Environments records have been getting better with each release, I hope the trend continues.

Murmurations reminds me of the Amorphous stuff, bizarrely. The rest of it suggests this could be the most ambient thing they've done though.
