Saw him support Orbital last night, thought his set was rather great. Plenty of variety in beats, plenty of lush melodies and a mix of old and new tunes (although he didnt play "outhouse" which I would have liked to have heard, but never mind.
It was a laptop and controller set, and I think he was using one of these

 

 

Very glad I got down there early, plenty of room to dance about before the masses turned up for Orbital and the back lighting effects were particularly effective. I love his tunes even more after that.

totally agree... lone's remix was very disappointing.. just bad, clumsy melodies...
after a few months with the album i really have only 2 standout tracks which were Paean and Warble Epics...

seriously, it's a neat LP and genuin work, but i miss the hard-hitting edge and playfulness of his previous work (big fan of hard islands, which somehow doesn't get much love here and in general. same as with clarks turning dragon - all the time i was soo fanboy'ing it and now suddenly everyone loves it!).

 

check out the session he did for globetrotter. you have to register, but it's free and you get four different versions from tracks from the new lp.
