thanks man. glad i could help you relax.

yeah the whole album will be like that, very mellow, but each song is different than the last. i tried to have each song invoke a different feeling. i know that many people aren't really into the extremely minimal ambient stuff, but i love it. so i just had to make a whole album.

some other ambient things im working on:

working on a Brian Eno - Music for airports style ambient EP. ive already got a couple songs but no way to record em yet. :(

and i have a Silent hill inspired ambient EP on the way too.

Bass is way too loud, check the waveform. Really nice atmosphere in the track. Diggin the bassline too. I think what this track needs is a little more progression towards the end perhaps, and maybe in the intro thing you could have an ambient pad section to buildup. Can't wait to hear a finished version!

yeah, i figured the bass was a little loud. but as long as i have the feel then im going in the right direction. :) and i agree with the progression. it did feel a little repetitive at the end. as for the intro instead of a pad i was actually thinking that i'd have a soft synth line in there. underneath the wind blowing.

Thanks for the comments!

Instantly reminds me of one of the wistful pieces off SAW2. I'm sure you folks know the one I'm talking about. Ah man how times have past.

Yeah I like this quite a lot. Reminds me a bit of Eno, Tangerine Dream, BOC and Aphex rolled into one. This was the stuff that I grew up and got me excited about electronic music to begin with.

heres my submission to that fruit comp thing, thought you guys would like to hear it.

Very nice; some cool chord changes in that progression; the overall aesthetic is much like something 'Manual' might do.

I do feel that it starts to drag about two thirds of the way in; you could easily cut over a minute off this; tighten it up without compromising the 'message' of the track.

yeah, i kinda felt like that too. but i also don't think it takes away much from it either. i most likely will come back to it some time in the future and remix it or something.

thanks for the listen!

If you do come back to this, I would look again at the synth patches you use here, they feel slightly predictable, and some more interesting timbres would add to this, given this is an ambient piece that relies on texture and sound design as much as it does melodies.

The drums seem to lack any midrange, perhaps some smart snares, quite low in the mix, might give the track some gentle propulsion and lazy forward movement, without messing up the afternoon-at-the-beach vibe.

thanks for the comment, ill mess around with that. i do agree with the synth, that was gonna be one of the first things id work on if i came back to it (which i most likely will). and as for the drums i felt like the mid overall in the track was kinda full and if i did anything more with it that i would start conflicting the sounds (though that could just be me). but like you say, if i kept it low that might actually liven up the song. ill try some stuff out. i was actually thinking when i get back to this that i would try and keep the beach-y feel but turn it into a more upbeat song. really though, i work on the fly. so what ever happens, happens.

thanks for the advice.

cheers!

so heres another track coming up on my Azure EP. its inspiration comes from watching Toonami and Adultswim, listening to those fucking awesome bump songs. Sergeantk (Zander one) and i collab'd this one. its more of a Chill-hop thing than the ambient stuff ive been doing lately.

Enjoy!
