I was just back in the Midwest last week and it was HOT AS FUK every day.

The whole region has been suffering from severe drought. When you go to the grocery store, people are having casual conversation in line about the possibility of food shortages.

Yes, this is the hottest time of the year for that region, but there have been record-breaking stretches of hot weather. It is not good.

Lets talk turkey about this shit and try and fix it, WATMM.

"Ice cores from Summit show that melting events of this type occur about once every 150 years on average. With the last one happening in 1889, this event is right on time," said Lora Koenig, a glaciologist from Nasa's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland and a member of the research team analysing the satellite data.

After Kony 2012, the next hype won't be executed until 2013. Perhaps it will be Ice-cap 2013? I was thinking about Romney 2013 myself, btw.

As the a member of the Bavarian Illuminati I can say that's not true. We only want you to buy Gaga tracks. That's where the money is. Gaga and illlicit drugs. Gaga, illicit drugs, and frightening Catholics. Gaga, illicit drugs, frightening Catholics, and knowledge of how magnets work.

If no winter this year, like the last winter, then yes we need to figure out affordable and realistic space travel.

It's been over 100F for the past 3 or 4 weeks here (south-central KS). I don't think it's rained in that time either. It hasn't rained since June 15th...

from the article:

Scientists said the "unprecedented" melting took place over a larger area than has been detected in three decades of satellite observation.

what does this really mean?

im not an idiot, I believe in global warming, but is this the real deal or just a random anomaly that we might not have a complete grip on yet?

also on the exact same page:
