does anyone remember what this was called? It was a hand-drawn webcomic, in the style of an adventure game - after each panel it only gave you one choice, "wear hat", "turn on light" etc, and it was a totally surreal story of a detective stuck in his office, and lots of mad stuff happened, and it goes on for hundreds and hundreds of screens. It was awesome. what was it called?

read it ages ago but suddenly realised that, since i knew enough russian to know what all the slang talk meant, i was in a minority of readers and shit, you see. did Burgess make up the Nadsat droog speak to be intentionally inpenetrable or not, do ye reckon? pretty awesome how the spellings make some of the words seem perfectly English, especially Horrorshow and Gulliver.

So first we've got mouse gestures, opera has this but it isn't enabled by default. Quite useful I'd say. I then looked into normal Windows gestures for the GUI environment and sure enough I found a good free utility called gMote (highsign alternative). Again, this is quite useful. Windows 7 has speech recognition so one could record ones voice saying something like 'open notepad' and not have to bother moving their mouse. I haven't tested it yet but I've heard it isn't too bad. So, here's what I'm thinking - with my experience with OSX, there's a utility called automator which is a really cool app that lets you automate pretty much everything in high detail. …

So anyway I first saw this around LUDD's about two years ago on an old and batterred video cassette, I'm pretty sure I've made a thread about it before, it's called Catterick and will most likley only appeal to the British watmmers here, but anyway I think it's fucking great and a rareity to find, it's never been repeated on Telly. I've always wanted to read Milton's Paradise Lost. Even the title alone sounds like something that would be interesting. The concept of having everything perfect and then losing everything hits me pretty hard for some reason. The Good Earth's portrayal at the perfect symbiotic relationship would be an example of a paradise, at least in the context of the events in the novel. Late on when the marriage is spoiled with a concubine, it was lost and less perfect for good. I also relate to this theme to my life as well.
