How does the World view America these days?
Scaramouche replied to Rubin Farr's topic in General Banter
I think the Human-Goose Conflict needs more analysis. I'd like to see a breakdown of weight and age, pitting the best fighting Geese against average humans. Take the below, the goose clearly had the psychological advantage, a likely win and fatality if this had gone on a moment longer. -

Geese are pretty tasty in a fight, though we're not talking swan levels of toughness. I think the poll is indicative of American overconfidence. People would rather go up against a chimp than a wolf. Crazy talk. -
New HTRK album dropping on the 17th of September, on their own label. Two of the tracks on the album - Real Headfuck, and Reverse Déjà Vu - were released last years as a single. I'd really love to hear them live one day, enjoyed each and every one of their releases.

44, Christ. A friend there once took me to Delphi on a day that hit 40. Intense. When we got there she just sat in the cafe, and said you go do what you need to do, drink water and don't get burnt. -

Support Artists During Covid-19 Pandemic on Bandcamp
Scaramouche replied to Nebraska's topic in Music Discussion
I get that, especially with the DJing angle. I had to fight a long battle with my inclination to collect. While it's manageable now, music and books still dominate my life. I did long stints in indie book and record stores years ago, that was not good for my pocket, though some of my fondest days working. Living with the reality that the right amount of records to own is n+1. -
Support Artists During Covid-19 Pandemic on Bandcamp
Scaramouche replied to Nebraska's topic in Music Discussion
Do you have a link? This amount would drive me crazy. I want mine down to 20/30, and then they are off the list if not purchased in a month or so. -
Frame is such a good album, very much enjoyed this re-issue. I'd like an Optimal.lp repress at some point, even if just a CD.

I was listening to Symbol last week, haven't listened to it in a very long time. I do need to listen to more of his work, not familiar with the Ebi alias.

Yeah, poor video. Reminiscent of the insightful 'analysis' in Netflix's The Social Dilemma.- 711 replies

Dante's Peak This raises some worrying questions.

Aye. Even with all tourists, the Louvre is worth a visit. Maybe with COVID restrictions/tourist numbers, you'll have a bit more space and time with some of the key attractions? Sacre Coeur is beautiful, even if only chilling with the view, it's just nice to hang out up there when the weather permits. Food. Even if it's just finding a good bakery, and getting yourself a baguette and taking a stroll... the bakeries are to die for. Food. Paris is relatively small, I think it's a good city for strolling, and soaking up the ambience.

There's good stuff in general on Farbwechsel, ambient leaning stuff, techno and more. All a little bit wonky. Some of the earlier releases on Lobster Theremin would probably scratch that itch for you too.

I really like Jordi Savall's work for both Colombe and Marais., Savall runs a great label too. This Marais piece was in Tous les Matins du Monde, great film.

Really enjoying this. Picked up a copy of the split he did with Francisco Lopez, I'll be digging into the other albums for sure.

Never heard of Halsey before. First clip sounded 'interesting', will check out because of the Trent/Atticus production. Intriguing. However, her vocal style is way too generic, and grating, for my ears.
