  1. this is the rule, not the exception, in america these days. - i'm sure the stats are worse since the article's publishing date. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/answer-sheet/wp/2016/11/01/hiding-in-plain-sight-the-adult-literacy-crisis/ Approximately 32 million adults in the United States can't read, according to the U.S. Department of Education and the National Institute of Literacy. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development found that 50 percent of U.S. adults can't read a book written at an eighth-grade level.
  2. jesus these fucking people are batshit.. but hey.. if they discourage republicans from voting in the georgia runoffs.. ok?
  3. i wonder what it'll add to the 1st edition? it seems comprehensive already but i guess there's always more. maybe it'll have "sgn pls tnks rob" chapter.
  4. i think what's happening is there's just so much of this they don't want to give air to all of it because it inadvertently promotes the idea. covering a few quacks or mentioning what they said over and over isn't going to do any good. i think we'll see mike flynn at least mentioned on the evening news and probably MSNBC will jump in and talk about it on various shows. every night and every day on all outlets "the president's unconfirmed/disputed claims" are mentioned without actually playing the clips. so there's a discussion about the climate in which these remarks exist but without playing the sound bites on repeat.
  5. that's my take on it too. it just sounds like pop+ or aspects of pop searching for a trend or a sound or smoething. somoene did it then a bunch of other people did it and now they're a trend. meh. brokencyde? ? lols. there was all kinds of pop weird 10 years ago. we probably just didn't hear it. edit. sorry.
  6. this is kiddie pop or something. very cute sounding but pretty boring. half this stuff is limpdick versions of Die Antwoord maybe. also has a "last night's party" vibe. https://www.decadentlifestyle.net/2010/01/26/last-nights-party/
  7. my Be Up A Hello vinyl sounds really great. Listening now and it's pristine and soothing in the way that vinyl frequency content usually is. really enjoying it. the mastering is different enough in places too. but overall it's a gem and I'm glad i got the vinyl.
  8. some pops in the vinyl of this for me. hoping it's just because it's the first listen and it's really dry and so possibly some static electricity causing it. otherwise sounds nice on vinyl. my Be Up A Hello vinyl is perfect though so perhaps the lathe cutting the autechre's vinyl is aging out. will have to see how it performs going forward. fingers crossed the pops aren't in the same places ?
  9. so far, the reviews are fun. though, not as cryptic as the releases themselves.
  10. this shit is shit. and now just pardoned michael flynn is calling for martial law and to overturn the election.
  11. wow. those comments are a mix of tinfoil hat and ate the onion and drank all the kool-aid
  12. it's hilarious.. like some smoking gun was expected. idiots. it's normal news room chatter.
  13. i managed to be rasonably productive today which is saying something considering how much i've posted on the internets. the thread in the quoted tweet from "Sandwich breath" is amazingly insane. all of these people could be sascha baron cohen. it would be a tough act to pull of but i think he could do it.
  14. Justice Department investigating potential presidential pardon bribery scheme, court records reveal https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/01/politics/presidential-pardon-justice-department/index.html Anyone think ghislane maxwell is in the middle of this? Somewhere? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. i think i fixed a sub par track and now it's almost medium good. everything is coming up Milhouse!
  16. it's all they have to express their thoughts. also, i don't think it's flippant w/some of them. some of them do wish they could will these things to happen. but yeah, it certainly cheapens relations and/or lends itself to firing up morons who, ya never know, could be one inch from trigger happy actions and rage. the divisiveness is a hard line. it's very stupid. these people.. it's trump's truth or nothing.
  17. have some faith in bandcamp. i'm sure they'll do a feature story on a new label like warp joining bandcamp but i expect they will maintain their mission to support/feature/promote independent artists and small labels. i think they will continue to dance w/the date that brought them to the dance. this also may send out some waves to attract more labels etc to bandcamp so we'll see how that turns out. there's already other boutique and niche labels on bandcamp though. ghostly etc.. i'm still going to buy from bleep or directly from labels like raster noton etc though.. i already have an account there and i like the preorder deals and direct communication etc.
  18. pickles don't belong on breakfast sandwiches. period. that's a hamburger. 15 pounds includes delivery though right? because nope. EggSLUT? lols.. if a restaurant had SLUT in its name here in portland it would las a week. it'd get picketed and shamed etc for use of the word. a few years ago a restaurant opened that had typical english breakfast stuff and "colonial" food and it was too controversial and was picketed. ended up on the news, in the papers etc and closed. eggs, grilled cheese, bowl of honey nut cherios, fruit smoothie.. these are the compromises of not wanting to cook.. oh an ordering a large pizza.. eating half and then eating the other half the next day. i typically cook one day and eat the left overs for 2 more days. cooking every day is too much to think about.
  19. just read this post to them. or flex until your shoulders and chest rip open your shirt.
