  1. also, 100+ children working in meat packing plants across 8 states. all linked to one company. hmmm.. From stakeouts to warrants: How federal investigators found more than 100 children cleaning slaughterhouses https://www.cbsnews.com/news/government-investigation-into-slaughterhouse-cleaning-company-that-hired-children-60-minutes-transcript-2023-05-07/ largest hedge fund in the world is partial investor in the company... of course. they said they did due diligence when investing and didn't find anything wrong. some reporters staked out a parking lot and watched a shift change and that's all it took to find that children were working there.

i like my playlist. it is a masterpiece. but that being said.. there's always other people who would get all forehead slappy about tracks i omitted. i'm sure there's a list of "rank el seq in order of..." on reddit or something.. where the tracks i omitted are like top 5 or something. but yeah.. NTS is immense and parts of it could be standalone releases or eps or whatever. there's some sound design in some of the ambient stuff that floors me but it's all pretty diverse levels of being floored.
  5. Mr Tornado - bio about Tetsuya Theodore Fujita who was present for the Aftermath of atomic bombs in Japan and was part of a team sent to try to figure out where the blasts detonated and at what altitude. he became fascinated by the blast patterns of the destruction. he developed a sort of forensic approach to analysis of destruction. it's a crazy story and pretty amazing dude even as a child. it's on PBS "American Experience" (link below) but various bits are on youtube in a playlist. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/films/mr-tornado/#part01 youtube playlist:
  6. and yet i will likely watch it because she's in it. she's become one of those actors i adore or something.. ever since Flea Bag which i think is the best thing ever among all the best things ever that i say that about. i watched it once then i put it on once while editing some tracks and it was better the 2nd time because i wasn't focused on how absolutely fucking stupid the "scientists" are.. again.. i mean.. every scientist in almost every alien movie is fucking idiocracy levels of stupid. bunch of idiots who go bumbling into a new environment like it's the collection of galaga and ms pacman machines at the back of the local pizza restaurant.

el seq has some great stuff on it. a lot. i made a playlist of all my favs pretty soon after getting it. i've since added one or two tracks to that playlist. there's a handful that just didn't fit for me. but the rest i absolutely love. for me it only got deeper w/more listens. there's clusters of tracks that fit together really well and w/some moving things around in the playlist it's much more cohesive for me. it's stellar. some of their best work i think. NTS is epic. it's an opus. have removed a few things here or there from my NTS FAVS playlist but it's pretty stacked. i've listened to it a lot. it grew on me really quickly. their mixing/mastering is so good. stellar.
  8. hoping for more of these sets released officially w/the mastering touches from Lord Bob.

  10. so, you listen to drexciya the 'just right' amount then...
  11. trusts, partnerships etc. there's other ways to go after the tax dollars. i think, no matter how many youtube videos show in 100 different ways how much money a billion dollars actually is, people don't have a concept of it.. not the mainstream anyways. it's crazy how much money it is. if people realized really how much it is they'd be more ok w/taxes on the super wealthy. but, so many people see themselves as potential super rich people for some reason that they are afraid it means they won't have a chance to attain it or something.
  12. scanned the boiler room set. that kind of stuff reminds of early days of rave before everything got split up into tribes.. when dj's would play stuff from all over the map w/hip hip style breakdowns right into rave pianos and fast breaks or whatever. so, in that way it's nice but seems more pop just because the passage of time and what things look like today in that world. but people are having a good time there and enjoying it so seems all good right? things that aren't my cup of tea usually come off better when the person on the decks or whatever doesn't present themselves as a super star dj expecting cult worship from trancecrackers.. rambling on...needlessly ? also, worth mentioning that in the states it all feels different depending on where someone is.
  13. NTS sessions is 5 years old. what is time anyways?

  17. recent court challenge to NYC gun law that went to the supreme court... clarence thomas' argument was, more or less, that there's a lot of crazy people with guns so everyone should be able to own a gun... so making it harder for people to get guns means they cant protect themselves from the crazy people with guns.
  18. pretty could america type shit here. "how does the world view america"
