  1. dubious rip for that guy. he hurt a lot of people. but he was tortured at harvard w/the CIA LSD experiments. also, recently Pat Casey died. epic dude in the world of BMX, X-games. he was doing some kind of jump on motorcycle and bailed nad the bike landed on top of him. super sad. 29yrs old. this vid is 2 years old..
  2. that up the nose shot was a bad choice... or perhaps it's just the lighting. edit: pretty good short horror though. kinda reminds me of thomas ligotti

  4. also, his son in law got $2 billion from the saudis. i wonder if they got some USA info about Iran plans?
  5. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/trump-case-assigned-judge-faced-criticism-ruling-favor-99967768 Trump case assigned to judge who faced criticism over her ruling in his favor in Mar-a-Lago search The historic federal criminal case against former President Donald Trump has been assigned to a judge he appointed who faced blistering criticism over her earlier pro-Trump handling of a search warrant in his case
  6. i used to have and use the suite of apps from the dev who made autosampler, keymapper etc.. before apple bought them. i made a lot of sample instruments. depending on the patch i'd sample every note at 3 velocities. it sometimes took a long time but the results were always good or useable/satisfying. it would export in many sampler formats so it'd work in kontakt, reason, logic etc.. but also the note data was in the name of each sample taken so wherever i'd drop the samples they would automap to those notes because whatever sampler i'd use would use the note name to find the original pitch of the sample. it saved a lot of time. i don't know if ableton's sampler does this.. i've never jumped all in on the ableton sampler but i know it's very capable. i do think the velocity setting in sampler when you go to use it will effect the loudness of each sample layer so you have to tweak each instrument you make so it works how you want to work.. and sometimes it's easier to only do one velocity depending on the patch.
  7. there's a podcast about the dude from Fire in the Sky and how he later said it was made up bullshit but still goes around talking to people at conventions and telling the story like it was real because he gets paid to be there. some people have spent a lot of time diving into that whole story/background etc and debunked it pretty thoroughly but i can't find the links.. i forget the podcast too. i'm useless for recalling information
  8. i'm curious about their forest management plans etc. has canada been doing the same kind of shitty job as america for the last 50+ years or whatever? never doing prescribed burns or letting fires do the thing they're supposed to do naturally? or are they better at it than USA is and it's just that there are so many huge forests there that it's huge fires doing their thing? 36% of canada is forests... how much of that is in the east vs west? it's crazy though. that smoke sucks. it's a bummer to be locked inside because the air is unbreathable. maybe trump will make a statement soon about how they should rake the forest floors and stuff. good times. wtf we're in for a wild ride and young people will live through some shit. the next few decades will be full of shit like this.
  9. so many of their albums and Eps stand alone. i can't live w/o any of them. they're all required listening for me. i can listen to pretty much any of it and think "sheesh. this is so fuckn good". experiencing each release as it happened may have something to do w/that but maybe that's why i tell anyone just getting into them to listen chronologically and spend a good month or so w/each release.
  10. there's maybe 10 or 11 different artists using 'ignatius' as a moniker. some people in india etc.. all over. it's a nightmare. well, not really.. i mean.. who cares. i do the thing w/shitify where you can make a claim for them to separate the releases etc but it takes time and is annoying. i killed my soundcloud acct a while back. some dude kept trying to log into my account and reset the password etc because he had same username. so dumb. i shitcanned that mess into the abyss.
  11. just saw the news. it's gonna be a great day! https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/pat-robertson-conservative-evangelist-christian-coalition-founder-dies-rcna61662 finally! edit:
  12. somehow missed this one also, top comment.
  13. recently passed a law making it even harder for immigrants to be in florida.. it's backfiring obviously because ya know.. workers adn stuff.. https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/reidout-blog/florida-gop-latinos-anti-immigration-law-desantis-rcna87966 lols.. fuck florida “This bill is 100% supposed to scare you,” says state Rep. Rick Roth, who intermittently waits on a translator to relay his words in Spanish. “I’m a farmer, and the farmers are mad as hell. We are losing employees. They’re already starting to move to Georgia and other states. It’s urgent that you talk to all your people and convince them that you have resources — state representatives and other people — that can explain the bill to you.” Roth then randomly pivots to professing his adoration for both DeSantis and Donald Trump. “We had the best president in my life — in the last 30 years — and I’m still supporting Donald Trump. I love my governor. He’s the greatest governor in,” he’s heard saying before the clip cuts off.
  14. there's a series called "Tipping Point" on PB. .has various focuses but is mostly USA. also, there's a "both sides" thing that happens in some ways but not too bad. they talk to some farmers and city water bureau people etc. so, you get the "it's fine to have big cities in the desert" type arguments but it's interesting to see how well places like phoenix are conserving water.
  15. shit. RIP. thanks so much for posting to let us know. so sorry for your loss.
  16. half of idaho and all of montana have been greyed out for a while on weather maps. may have changed in recent days but looks horrible still.
