  1. Lovely set of tracks right here. He has been so prolific lately that it's easy to take some of his stuff for granted. I'm super impressed at how Darren continues to produce so many quality releases such as this one.
  2. What a stunning return to form. I felt like he kind of dropped off the radar after his Likemind ep - glad to have him back! And of course I only listened to this after I posted my year end list. I'm going to have to make some edits - this is right up there with the best of the year.
  3. Ok...here we go. I listened to a lot this year, but these are some ones without many mentions that have risen to the top. My albums/eps/releases of the year 2021: Priori - Your Own Power Modern, psychedelic take on early 90s trance tunes. Think Sun Electric meets Namlook's Air series. Healion - In Light, It Undoes Nothing Another appearance from Francis Latreille aka Priori - this time as a collab with Ex-Terrestrial. Crazy rhythms meets the warm pads of both of their individual works. 36 and Awakened Souls - The Other Side of Darkness Epic collab between 36 and the husband/wife duo of James and Cynthia Bernard. This one got me kept me grounded over a really tough stretch of time after it came out. Trichome - Mind Body Complexing Subterranean electro a la Phonecia's Brown Out. So many repeat plays for this one. Also check out his many jam sessions available on his Soundcloud. Tangents - Timeslips & Chimeras Chilled out jazzy post-rockish fusion from a super talented group of guys. Fans of Tortoise take note. downtairs J - basement, etc Highly impressive debut of dubbed out 90s homages. Also let me to discover his incredible beat tapes under the name of Snacs. not even noticed - Muted Noises Maybe my favorite new artist of the year for me. This coupled with his Neophyta ep make for some of the most lush breakbeat based tracks I've heard in awhile. They also have an album on the way on Dec. 31st! Mike Shannon - Cygnus Sutra Jazzy deep techno from one of the most underrated producers of the past 20 years. Martinou - Rift Really epic minimal journey perfect for late evening bike rides. Thanks to @species8472for this rec (among others). Eomac - Cracks His best album (including the Lakker stuff) in my opinion. Banger after banger on here, but still flows so well as a whole. Humanoid - 7 Songs (bonus edition) These 14 tracks are some of the best acid tracks I've ever heard. Love this pared back sound compared to the last album of his. Simon Pyke - Motion #1 I will never not love Simon's music. This new ep hearkens back to some of his later Freeform-era productions. So good. So fun. Christoph de Babalon - 044 (Hilf Dir Selbst!) "Cool Priest" is my anthem. Whole ep slaps though. TM404 - Syra Never heard acid so tripped out. Right up my alley. Bigeneric - Helva My AOTY. Magical moments from deep in the Alps.
  4. I think I’ve now fallen way down the rabbit hole of Priori productions after listening through this multiple times. Excellent album and such an impressive back catalogue. So many good releases (and collabs) to find out there. Dude is hugely talented and puts a really trippy spin on classic house/IDM/trance. Can’t get enough.
  5. This name is already buy on sight for me on the heals of this release. Braindance done just to perfection.
  6. I think Velvet is my current favorite but the whole thing is quite a trip. Massively enjoying this.
  7. Also can't say enough good things about this album. This is the one for me from Jynx:
  8. Great album, great tune. I’m still surprised that the two albums of outtakes are as chock full of great tunes as they are.
  9. Just discovered this super-talented guy that makes all kinds of music, from downtempo, to breakcore and even prog rock. This album has a little bit of it all - first two tracks are especially killer.
  10. One for the year end lists for sure. Really smooth.
  11. I had so much fun listening to this. What a great pairing of talent done well.
  12. This is surprisingly good. Some really thumping rhythms on here. Fil is a really talented producer too - check out his stuff as Autolump. It’s like Orb meets Yello.
  13. Do we really need an album announcement 5 months before a release date??? (looking forward to hearing this though)
  14. You can never go wrong with Marco. I love that he is still putting out such great tunes from his archive.
  15. Either way, this is very nice. Thx for the rec guys.
