  1. Pretty much. I wasn't bored throughout the movie but it seemed halfassed, there are too much inconsistencies in the story, obviously stolen elements from other movies and yeah, that ending just left me dead cold (har har). Forgot to rate it, probably 5.5/10.
  2. Snowpiercer - lol, Matrix + Hunger Games (or any other class struggle movie) + 2012 + The Day After Tomorrow all in one. No sense was made. Still enjoyed it. Nah it's hilarious, not really thát horrible even.
  3. Yeah, good 'ol Kreator! And Boris is great, although I'm a bit picky when it comes to their discography: Altar, Feedbacker, The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked, Amplifier Worship, Rainbow and the Merzbow collab (Sun Baked Snow Cave) are my faves, should say enough I guess? I mean, goddamn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdlvoTCHjo4 But man, that Bolzer EP is fucking great. Reminds me a tiny bit of my fave band from recent years, Obliteration, in terms of freshness. Cheers psn edit: just had to post this epic one
  4. What was this Monolith track? Totally Photodementia-style but I don't recall this being released? Really ace! edit: couldn't make out the titles on radio, hope to see a tracklist. That last track was brilliant. Loved the show tonight, cheers!
  5. What sample are you talking about? I've never seen this movie Mostly the intro + IX on Keep of Kalessin's Reclaim EP (not worth the listen, but sort of nostalgic for me) and a lot of references to the movie in tracktitles (Arrakis, whatever more), plus this video which I always loved: Besides that I was sure a few sounds were sampled (no voices) but I have to look that up. I also heard the "he who controls the spice..." sample in a lot of tracks but like Gocab said, not sure which ones atm. What I meant was, the movie felt like a huge 'ah, so that's where it's from' moment (the soundtrack, the sandworms and thumpers in Half Life, etc.)
  6. A mate in this band just released this new track / video and I'm digging it. Technical, Meshuggah-ish metal but with the occassional trumpet and clear vocals. Noice, yeah, enough cool stuff to keep you occupied, but just a tad too expensive for me for not enough acts that I'd really like to see (or have already seen). I'm keen to see that ambient project from that Enslaved guy though, more than seeing Enslaved again. Definitely check out if Urfaust and Virus are your thing, they do pretty amazing stuff. Have fun anyway!
  7. Congrats man! Must be such an incredible relief (I hope, still working on mine...).
  8. Nice to read those posts on Mulholland Drive, I have some perspective on it now. Next up: Inland Empire. And Eraserhead is due for a rewatch, last time was 2007 and it left me pretty disturbed. Blue Velvet - maybe in the wrong mood for it, a good watch but not as satisfying as other Lynch movies so far. I saw myself constantly comparing it to Twin Peaks and its universe. Dune - 'oh, so that's where that sample is from'/10. Obvious classic I finally witnessed for myself. Dated, but incredible. Glad I read the 'instruction manual' in advance as I didn't read the book. Tekkonkinkreet - 7.5ish/10 - beautiful art and beautiful music by Plaid.
  9. Yup, and someone else on here did a pretty good noise reduction on the rip we already had. I think it was a piano track, definitely CCAI-style!
  10. You lucky dog, such an insane line up every year and the whole city is covered with freaks for a week. Not really my cup of tea this year though, except for Virus and Urfaust. And yes, Botanist!
  11. Great sample. This'll be promising!
  12. Not much into metal anymore these days except for slow, heavy stuff bas(s)ically. Still, there was a tidbit of excitement when I saw the first Arcturus track in 10 years posted just now: Loved their stuff back in the day and saw them live in 2005 and will see them again after 10 years next month just for tradition sake, but I'm afraid this doesn't do a lot for me...
  13. ,,,,,,, you might enjoy this too: http://www.discogs.com/Aquarian-Foundation-Silent-Teaching-EP/release/4644722 I did, thanks! Warrants a search for the other stuff too I reckon :)
  14. Hurray, found another one! Played just after Yazoo's Don't Go, it's Kimberly - Misjudged Love (Barbarian Berrios Beats)
  15. 'New' one up :) https://www.mixcloud.com/PenrynSpaceAgency/psa-mission-003/
  16. Aye, I've wondered this as well. My understanding of kickstarter is that it's only funded, ie no money will be exchanged, unless the full amount is reached by the goal date. If $30,000 isn't reached, then what? If I'm reading into this correctly, the deadline for the purchase of a plot of land is the 27th. So everyone that wants to back this -regardless of the Kickstarter being a succes- could give a heads up to Grant in that group, so he can maybe set up an adress to pledge / donate to (in a very short time period that is, but there is only about $3,000 needed iirc).
  17. Finally saw Mulholland Drive, what a trip. Loved it. Also, American Sniper (= a remake of Team America directed by Leni Riefenstahl iirc?)/10
  18. Join the colundi facebookpage, maintained by Grant: https://www.facebook.com/groups/913179505379898/?fref=ts i intended this particular fb group *specifically for pledging colleagues* - to discuss node pledges, music, effects, events, plans, votes etc. we intend to establish a private bulletin board elsewhere but it's fb for now (sorry). the vendors require the node in question to be purchased by Fri 27th March so I'm wondering who's down regardless of the KS result? we need the 100 colleagues here for that and many don't use fb. in theory, we should have raised enough for it now. I'm in regardless what the Kickstarter result will be, hope the other 100 backers will too. And in other news: Level 8 is incredible. Couldn't get some of the melodies out of my head, even when I was at a gig listening to other music for hours...
  19. YES! The last track is the track I was waiting for 'ever' since that first radio set
  20. Of course, released during the solar eclipse :) great way to start the weekend!
