that being said, homework was the album that got me into electronic music. in 6th grade i had a big crush on a girl at school and her older sister made her a copy of a tape of homework. she made me a copy and it completely changed my life. as a computer nerd (way before it was remotely cool), the music spoke to me and i spent countless nights listening to that while making websites on tripod/geocities.

also from what i can tell it sounds like tracks that were found in other albums i.e. MHTR were used to replace the original ones here. if you listen to roygbiv its clearly the MHTR version, the hats are completely different. this is pretty much the aural equivalent of cgi'ing in jabba the hut into episode 4. takedown notice imminent.

also the tape hiss is part of the whole thing

sean had mentioned something about it in one of the mixlr events last spring/summer. they were porting some of their max patches to ableton/max4live because they had been asked to do a bunch of remixes but weren't set up for it. from the sounds of it they did all that work to port things but in the end the decided to pitch shift everything down an octave and call it a day.

LP5 to gantz graf was a fuckin' run. i almost want to include tri repetae in that because i think it was the beginning of an aesthetic they carried throughout, just increasing in complexity etc. however it wouldnt be fair. no one could top my list.

on the fence about this one. i stand by VOD as being legit and im sure it will be good quality. sometimes though some records just seem meant to be digital. on the other hand im a hoarder.

Watched coda a few weeks back. It’s a bit too long but worth watching. There’s some stuff in there that was raw material for async which was cool to see

That alien first person shooter game looked so badass to me as a kid but I never got to play it. I don’t know about any other games for it though
