    So I'm about to have a month or so of bachelor life - I want to buy Civ VI (for a Macbook Air with the Apple silicone), but I'm confused - the 2K website has a huge sale, but then it says only available for Windows, even though it lists Mac minimum system requirements. Steam has the base game on sale, but not the Platinum edition or Anthology. I could buy it through the App store but that's $85!!!! wat do?

    That’s just that burnt toast. I bet you wish it was powdered toast. I have a friend who’s an ER doc, he says he goes in, does his shift, goes home and drinks a beer and forgets about the day. I guess having that ability to compartmentalize is necessary for your mental health.

    I didn't want to use the word always, cause I'm sure there's some where it's not (actually, I think that Sakamoto one where you buy the right to own the signed printed sheet music is kind of different...cause you may actually get a physical product out of it. still just hype BS though).

    Don’t be obtuse man, it’s not cool. But in a lot of cases, the purchaser is not buying anything. Not a jpg, png, or bmp, they’re buying a token that says they have ownership of some url that points to a piece of art, and that can easily be taken down. That’s the scam part. NFTs don’t democratize anything (every artist can easily set up an eth wallet and sell from their website), rather they take away trust from the evolving digital world and place control of “art” back into the hands of the elite who can afford to bid up these pieces. The “right click save as..” argument is in reference to the obvious difference between a physical object and digital object. Sure object fetishization is gross (my Analord binder will never be sold) but there’s a distinct difference between the turntable and the digital art.

I think you’re confusing here: artists can sell worldwide through the internet with relative ease, and have been able to do so for some time. Bandcamp for example has offered sales to multiple countries for a number of years. NFTs are not the actual artwork, and therein lies the scam. This has been explained in more detail previously in the thread.
