Ok my little take on the Tuss EP.... I have the EP and hoped before I heard it that it was RDJ, but after hearing it I hope it's not RDJ coz I think it's a lame EP IMHO.

my new theory is that the tuss is that band RDJ mentioned he was getting together some time ago.... so, you got richard on drum machines/beats, sherard ingram on synths, mike dred on acid lines, vibert on samplers and tom jenkinson on bass... or something like that.... EDMX on the vocoder as well.... it all seems to make sense..... the name 'the tuss' sounds more like a band name than an individual name to me, the tracks sort of sound like 'jams', there are a mixture of styles etc.... i think it's a wicked idea - imagine going to see this 'band' perform live! all standing behind different machines..... a bit like a modern version of kraftwerk....

'course there is! they're all mates like.... no one would worry about ego's or that shit then.... and Aphex did say he was getting a band together, and it is a pretty 'new' sort of idea and very braindance..... i bet it's rich's band. i just bet it is.

I bet it's some dude who has some access to some decent gear and it talented enough to make some tracks that sound pretty good. But it'll be like when Astrobotnia came out and everyone was all on the dick and arguing that it "totally is AFX OMG WTF BBQ" and Ovuca sold some records and some tracks were pretty kickass and some weren't so much.

ok thats the last time i open a tuss related thread

if i were to care enough to think anything about who is behind this new aphex 12" i would say that it's richard james who, from analord onwards, has demonstrated his (still way ahead of the game) idiosyncratic electronic sound and possibly expressing his dissatisfaction with the state of ("electronic music"(lol)) and deliberately alienating the breakcore noob crowd who think come to daddy is the pinnacle of his discography and who probably think firestarter by the prodigy is cutting edge.

but i don't really care

it's good music

NICE... That track sounds great.

very aphexy, esp those high end parts in the left channel...

reminds me of drukqs counter melodies.

I think the track is shit, it's no way up to par with any drukqs tracks... it uses shit samples, the drum programming is far worse than the technicality of 'his' previous work, the melody doesn't go anywhere and the ending is bland.
