do english and scots all feel like one big british family? like for example i'm watching wimbledon right now and andy murray is scottish and the crowd is absolutely the most massive crowd i've ever seen. another example is gordon ramsay, he's scottish but like if he opens a restaurant in london are the english going to be like this is our boy? do english get along better with irish or scots. do scots get along better with irish or english? generally and superficially speaking of course.

I think they like Murray because he has a legit shot at winning Wimbledon.

yeah, we all get along fine for the most part...you do occasionally come across a hardcore scottish/irish/welsh nationalist who has an irrational hatred of The English, but only if you're unlucky.

Yea we all get along pretty well, the people I used to drink with in the pub were mostly Irish, Scottish, because they love the English and the only reason I'm not sat in the pub with the other English folk in there is because they are looking for a fight with other English lads (usually because they are too scared to pick on any Scottish or Irish). Fuck the English, Irish and Scottish for the win. Also this doesn't really apply to the Welsh I guess because they don't seem to move out of Wales, my Nan is the only Welsh person I know who lives in England.

I've always percieved antagonism towards the English from groups of Scottish people, but never on an individual basis.

Also worth noting that since the amazing disappointment that was Henman, the English media latch onto anything they can get. I think if Murray was English they'd refer to him as the best English hopeful, but because he's Scottish he's the best British hopeful.

I really like Murray, I was indifferent towards him until I saw his game before the game he got knocked out at last Wimbledon (I forgot who he played) but he was down two sets and looking to be beaten, then out of nowhere battled back and won with some of the most amazing shots. It was one of the best games in recent memory, even better than Nadal v Federer. Can't help but love a battler like that, I hope he does it this year.

COME ON YOU BRITISH LEGEND

scots def a bit aggro to the brits. i think at school they learn lots about the old clan-based culture and how cruel and repressive the english were to them - this i heard from a edinburgh girl i was seeing.

but tbh, its probably just all down to that film. y'know, this one:

i heard rumours that glaswegians dont like english that much, in the same way that scousers dont like welsh people much for some unknown reason.

quite a lot of the 'english' dislike murray because he had the balls to come out and say that no fucking way was he going to support the english football team at some competition or other.

plus, if he wins wimbledon he'll be british. just like chris hoy and all the other scots who won golds at the olympics last year.

to answer your question fred - no, not really.
