you know, that ad is the reason why phil quit music.

ARE YOU HAPPY NOW CADBURY? NOW THERE REALLY WON'T BE A PROPER GENESIS REUNION!

also, face value is a really, really good album. not nearly as good as duke or a trick of the tail, but still pretty damn awesome, considering it was mostly recorded in a home studio.

also also, that ad is about two years old.

fuck you phillip glass

it's true. not only has he quit the music industry, he physically can't drum anymore:

In September 2009, Collins publicly declared that he can no longer play drums, due to a recent operation to repair dislocated vertebrae in his neck, that has left him unable to hold his drumsticks. He has also lost his ability to play piano.

progressive rock is dead

least he can still sing.

ideally he could double triple quadruple 5x 6x 7x 8x 9x 10x layer his vocals but i realize now he could never layer it enough

it must be so hard for him to finish anything!! hes tinkering in the suss(t)udio and hes thinking "this needs something. but what?". he probably doesn't even know about the needs more phil collins phenomenon. hes got a kazoo out adding it to the 500 layers of instruments hes already added. no wonder he doesn't play drums anymore. he kept hittign himself as the sound of wood on phil collins is the best sound ever (except phil singing) so hes all bruised and can't attend the grammies.

Actually based on my research the need for phil collins is more like infinite summation 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16... which mathematically converges to enough phil collins, though practically never quite reaches unity (phil collins).
