Ironic band for fans of Irony

like many people today, you seem to equate irony with parody or commentary, of which it is neither.

i blame alanis morissette for this, personally.

lol, that ed byrne skit.

yeah and i hate ed byrne too

who still wears a pearl jam t-shirt in 2010?

New tracks are not great, but "She Makes me a Killer" is amazing.

Anyway, not put "Very Fancy" "I dont need you" and "Super Evil" in this $O$ new version is a big mistake.

Surely this only holds if you view thier output as having value, else its ironic that they dont see what their doing is as crass as the culture its satirising.

Have you guys been to their site today?

http://www.dieantwoord.com/

Apparently their web designer fucked up the countdown clock and it accidentally added an extra 2 days onto the new album countdown at the stroke of midnight. When they tried to contact him, he went AWOL and they couldn't get in touch with him.

His name is Dirk, which is why it now says "Dirk f*cks whores." 800 times on their site.

i like the revised version of $O$. they left out a couple of things that i'm very fond of, but the result is a much tighter album... 'she makes me a killer' is next level zef rap-rave at its best :emotawesomepm9:

you can see the beginnings of it here...

it sounds like they did a bit of remastering too.

another thing i get from the new version and some of the lyrics on the new tracks and the general attitude of the thing... waddy seems to think that die antwoord could be - if not lady gaga -at least MIA or... fuck, i dunno, the white stripes or something famous. huge within a particular audience. and i might agree with him.

waddy tudor-jones has apparently legally changed his name to ninja according to this quite good interview: http://motherjones.com/riff/2010/10/die-antwoord-ninja-evil-boy-interview

edit: she makes me a killer kinda sounds like dr. dre, production wise - i think

The extra tracks from the $O$ project like WAT POMP etc are out now on 2 eps, one called '5' and the other called EKSTRA. We also dropping a limited edition 23 track $O$ album/DVD/book early next year with all our shit on plus 2 new bonus tracks called PARTY TIME and FOK JULLE NAAIERS. Once, ninja out.

also, from wiki talk page

Does anyone have a source for the new lineup listed here? As far as I know, Wanga was just a guest artist, and I haven't heard anything about the other changes. -zorblek (talk) 04:02, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

agreed. and vuilgeboost is just their tour dj/stand-in for dj hi-tek when unavailable, i believe --Kaini (talk) 19:58, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

DJ Hi Tek never existed, he was just a friend that was asked to be in the videos and photoshoots. Die Antwoord started with Justin De Nobrega as the DJ, and now Vuilgeboost is the fulltime DJ.Steve37 (talk) 10:20, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

yeah, i also heard that nobrega wrote most of the beats on $O$. however, this leaves us with a problem - considering the group are kinda - how should i put this - constantly blurring the line between fact and fiction, as well as receiving absolutely crazy media attention at present, finding a WP:V source for anything other than "ninja, yolandi, dj hi-tek" for members is going to be problematic. --Kaini (talk) 22:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

that interview is ridiculously entertaining to read.

ninja appears to agree

THA FOKKEN BEST INTERVIEW WIF DIE ANTWOORD I HAVE EVER READ FROM THA OVERSEAS. MOTHER JONES IS THA FOKKEN MANGO.... http://fb.me/DaJyCFoD

7:03 PM Oct 12th via Facebook

that blondie producer he mentions is, obviously, nile rodgers.

there's been one or two edits on the wiki articles from a south african IP and i'm fairly sure it's someone associated with the band; small things like clarifications on what zef means.
