it's a total drummed up wedge issue, the fact that mosques or islamic centers have existed in downtown manhattan since 9/11 with no problems goes to show how artificial these complaints are. I'm not saying people aren't genuinely upset, but they are upset based on misinformation.

you can't really judge people's feeling as retarded as they might look, you can't know how genuine they are either. right now there are thousands of those who oppose this thing wherever it is and your only solution is to build that shit upon those retards. constitution is a paper, reality is reality.

erroneously. the simple fact is, we have the freedom to worship whoever we want wherever we want in this country. if you say "hey waitaminnit, you can't build a mosque there because of X reason," you are opening up that argument for EVERYONE. freedom is like pregnancy, you're either completely pregnant or not at all pregnant. you're either all for freedoms or not at all for freedoms. there's no room for in-between.

it's not even a mosque, it's just a community center, and there's another one down the street. people certainly didn't take issue with strip clubs popping up around ground zero. americans and american news media are retarded.

 

also obama backpeddling after his statement was a big misstep. if he's going to embrace this then he needs to do so wholeheartedly. people are completely forgetting the context this is happening in. it isn't just about the families of the victims, and the implication that this is hallowed ground and a mosque somehow desecrates that is inherently racist and xenophobic.
