whose productions are instantly recognizable? listening to 8ball & mjg's in our lifetime vol. 1 i thought it must be organized noize but it was mr. dj, an o.n.p. affiliate

organized noize productions often feel like an artistical interpretation of the entire black experience, with a southern slavery-relevant anticipatory mood of freedom like

obviously you could point out boards of canada as having a distinctive characteristic sound; i'd be hard pressed to say who i like more... anyways let's discuss this

a few more examples i can think of are--in hip-hop: dr. dre (though he basically filtered p-funk into rap), the neptunes; in our kind of electronics: the orb (quite unique)

examples of organized noize:

Lone? when he first started releasing I wrote him off as a boc wannabe but since have been continually impressed at how he has carved out his own little sound and mood and keeps carrying it through different styles.

i don't know if it really counts, but as far as it goes, max tundra is by far the most distinctive producer/musician/remixer/whatever you want to call him to gain any semblance of popularity. in my opinion, anyways. i can tell a max tundra tune within seconds.

Busta Rhymes.

i was listening to some biggie on a dj mix and i thought his rhyme style for the particular track sounded a lot like busta. i really know nothing about either of them... food for thought?

DJ Premier always has a distinct style to the majority of his beats. Many, many, many diverse cut up vox samples throughout while still maintaining a very cohesive structure. I felt like I proved this earlier today after I was listening to a Royce da 5'9" track, I heard the distinctive cut up vox intro and guessed Premier; I was right. :emotawesomepm9:
