Nam Pla (Thai fish sauce), whilst not being a direct analogue of vinegar, is also fermented, translucent, brown and comes in vinegar shaped bottles. And is generally classed as seasoning. Completely irrelevant.

i fucking hate vinegar.

edit- cant lie, i respect it for being so versatile, and so inherently weird - it's very IDM, but every time i smell it i want to puke violently.

you mean vigenar bottle shapped bottles

yeah them

LOL

It's neither, google it. Vinegar is it's own class, condiments, seasonings and vinegar are all their own species.

White vinegar and cider vinegar have their own little alcoholic babies behind closed pantry doors.

That's that little bottle of white spirit you never knew was there.
