are you guys serious?!? fucking quit your racist bullshit

actually fuck it, have at it. it's good to know some of you guys are so ignorant. should change the title of the thread though if you're gonna go down this sick route

I would say your long rant about "terrorism" and Hamas "letting their people die" as a propaganda method is not only one of the most ignorant posts in the thread but actually pretty sickening and bordering on racism. imo.

No, it's 100% religion. Religion created the culture and the peoplehow they've lived for 3000+ years. The post religion sentiments here represent such a small percent of people. Atheists/agnostics seem like bigger groups because they spend tons of time inflating their voice via reddit and adopt a highway.

<3

no. Netanyahu is not religious for example. Sharon was totally secular. this is not a religious conflict. your whole stance is totally ridiculous dude. this is a political conflict, the so called religious aspects are secondary.

Of course secular type A (psychopathic) personalities will rise to the top, because that is where the power is, but without the billions of religious persons to head, there would be no conflict. What would Israeli's and Palestinians have against each other if you took religion away? The land dispute has it's origins in scripture. There is a complacent view of the world, via globalism, that has been forming since the late seventies. You subscribe to it. You honestly believe that religion is secondary. But they are dying for it every day. What would you die for?

And to usagi, nothing can be done about it really, unless you believe in God.

really, dude?

also, more Jews should be killed so the numbers are even obviously.

and

There is one exception though, I can quite cooly say I hate Israelis (yes I know hate is a strong word but I'm sticking with it), they're the most horrible people you could ever meet, in fact it would blow your mind how arrogant and pig-headed they are. So even though I know Hamas aren't angels I just presume they are a necessity living next door to them

that's ok

and

what's a zionist media machine?

^

that's all fine, but:

my calling out hamas, an identified terrorist organization who spends concrete given to them to build tunnels for offensive attacks instead of aid and infrastructures for their own ppl is bordering on rascism? the video of the children's show i posted that teaches young kids to "shoot all the jews" (on official hamas tv), the proof of them exploiting/putting their own their people in danger.. that's sick and borders on racism for me to point that out? it's hamas. They murder. They are maniacs. It's undisputed. Even much of the surrounding Arab world hates them.

That's absurd. By calling out HAMAS, I'm bordering on RACISM? whaaat? dude. lol.

that's out of control... i never once generalized a nationality/religion/people.

you should re-read your post that i quoted you on... maybe you didn't realize what you typed .......?

NOBODY wants even fucking touch the fact that religion, not religious extremism, but just the core religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, are the heart of the delusional, illogical, and immoral ideologies that perpetuate this conflict.

mostly agree with the rest of your post but no' on this here. I don't believe religion is at the root of the problem. it's a hugely aggravating factor, sure, but if you were able to magically remove it from the equation and turn both peoples completely secular overnight, the conflict would still continue because humans gonna human.

Yeah I'd agree with this upon further thought. "Hugely aggravating" is more apt. To clarify it's the most maddening aspect of the conflict in my opinion.

For one religious zealouts are often outsiders (Israeli lobby in the West and US, the Shi'ite supporters of Hezbollah in Lebanon). But the reality is Israel is fairly secular overall Palestinian nationalism was historically more pan-Arabism than pan-Islamic. Even Hamas itself has more extreme factions that most of the press erroneously lumps together as one organization, and these are the entities that often break the ceasefires and "go rogue" against Hamas leadership orders.

Agree broadly that religion is not the core of the issue but a major factor. That said, the ultra-orthodox community and Israeli government issue is one that's serving as pro-Palestinian anti-Israeli propaganda on this site. A lot of the context has nothing to do with the oppression in Palestine but the domestic issues of ultra-Orthodox citizens of Israel.

The fact that most of their community is anti-Zionist and opposed the creation of Israel yet resides in Israel and enjoys the advantages of that countries resources and infrastructure has naturally created resentment, especially since they were until this year the only males exempt from conscription. Conscription into the IDF is fundamental part of Israeli citizenship - regardless of ethnic or religious differences among Israeli citizens - and they are the one group that did not participate. I don't condone the excessive violence used against them in those protests but that said it's off-tangent from the current conflict in Gaza.

Lastly, there's a far more relevant religious extremist group that is far more relevant to this conflict: ultra-nationalist and ultra-Zionist Israeli settlers, the majority of which are outspokenly devout Jews and have financial and political support from (even if not prompted) from evangelical Christians. They've been a huge factor in this overall. And they too have had run-ins with the IDF and Israeli security forces. And again, conscription has been an issue with pro-settler Israelis, as many have refused orders to destroy illegal settlements.

your insistence on Hamas being a "recognized terrorist organization" is meaningless and unproductive. just before the current massacre on gaza Hamas formed a unified government with fatah and agreed to let Abbas be in charge and conformed to the international legal consensus to the extent the even the us was negotiating with them. Hamas is the democratically elected government of gaza. you can keep calling them terrorists but it's meaningless bullshit imo.

the rockets simply aren't a threat. at all. they are messages of resistance. I do not support the practice but I totally see why they do it. few Israelis have ever been killed by rockets. more Israelis probably die from slipping on banana peals. the Palestinians are resisting the horrendous occupation which the entire world neglects and enables and in the case of the us supports in basically every possible way. this is not "self defense." that is a lie. a complete lie. the Palestinians are being destroyed by Israel and I think it's pretty fucked up for you to condone all the innocent lives destroyed in this conflict. I just watched a video of some settlers dancing around a cache of Israeli rockets in joy. are you saying those civilians could justly be killed by Hamas since they're hanging around rockets? I think the racism is precisely here. you casually dismiss innocent lives...bc they're palestinian. who cares if a bunch of kids die? Hamas is terrorist and they shoot rockets and israel alone has a right to defend itself to the point of pounding gaza into dust.

great posts in this thread josh, thanks a lot. I'm so bad at playing it cool lol. shout out usagi as well for speaking the truth. true knowledge bro.

I would simply like to add that I think the religious issue would be seriously decimated by political action and the realities ensuing from a resolution based on international law and recognition if the 67 borders. people can bitch all they want about religious bullshit but if the Israeli government and the international community stops encouraging them their issues become marginal. the government simply exploits this shit for political reasons. Netanyahu is not a fucking Zionist, he could give a flying fuck. the massacre of gaza, the exploitation of bloodlust merely serves his political career. the Israeli gov in general is pretty pathetic these days. I mean, avigdor fucking Lieberman. flol.

sorry but a petition will not save Gaza from Imperialist terror.

this shit is so enraging.

the mass media coverage is enraging.

I work in an area of Dallas that is very Jewish and very pro Israel, enraging.

So God's chosen folk are also supposed to suppress others who don't believe the way they do, and fulfill the irony of history repeating itself????? Jews escape slavery and become the chosen people to welcome a new messiah into a perfect world, cut to 1934, they become the center of an attempted genocide. Cut to 1947, they take land from people who were chillin because it was theirs many years ago. Cut to now, they are and have been trying to wipe out all Palestinians.

FUCKING ENRAGING!

I wish I could be apathetic.

Would help my enraging factors.

I have nothing against the Jewish faith but acting like the world is a Risk board game needs to fucking stop.

Will it ever?

this just too deep into awepittance/delete world that makes it impossible to reply or even find some coherent arguments to reply to.

lane, if you lived in gaza where ever few years israel comes in and blows the fuck out of your infrastructure and seals off your borders by land and water, do you think you'd build infrastructure or do you think you'd build tunnels to gtfo?

you can cite random shit about teaching kids to murder but the same applies 10 fold to israel. I mean, citizens are required to join the military. a couple years ago I posted that infamous pic of little girls writing "with love from israel" on rockets ffs. what point do you think you're making?

maniacs...exactly how I'd describe Israeli government and it's blind supporters.

I think it's despicable that the Hamas resistance takes place in civilian areas. they should *obviously* go to the special desgnated fighting ring and put all their rockets in a big bag with "rockets" written on it. just like the Syrian rebels. or the French resistance. or the Algerians. or something.

in any case it doesn't matter, they're just dead Palestinians and they're not like us. also, more Jews should be killed so the numbers are even obviously.

jesus alco, i mean you're a respectable and clever flol maker but when you get into this stuff it's just embarrassing, hamas is resisting israeli existence as it openly states in every possible, it first began it's terror attacks during the oslo peace talks that were supposed to bring and end to all this. there's is no comparison to any resistance movements of ww2 whatsoever. the rockets are not a threat only because israel invested zillions in protecting against them, one month of rockets without such protection killed about 40 civilians during the hezbollah war in 2006.

So it's wrong because the land wasn't privately owned? Uhm... what kind of argument is that? It was a part of the Ottoman empire, and when that crumbled it was under British mandate. Unfortunately part of it was given to Zionists as a guilt relief after we fucked up stopping the Nazis terrible holocaust. The Zionists proceeded to grab the whole thing and then some. It's completely fucked up.

I'm not a Hamas supporter and I think Palestinians support them simply bc there's no better option. which sucks severely. Abbas is a complete joke. and basically that's all they have to chose from. nevertheless it's quite obvious israel is not the god guy here. the Oslo accords were a complete joke man. wtf are you thinking? it would be insane for the Palestinians to agree to that shit.

as for me "getting into this stuff" I've studied it pretty carefully for over a decade. we may disagree but I'm not an idiot. the ww2 reference was a stretch but it accentuates the reality of resistance. occupied people, with no army, no money, no water, no fucking resources at all do what they can. it sucks that part of that has been rockets but I honestly do not see what else they can do to draw the workd's attention to their plight. the Israeli government is sick and disgusting. you can't possibly condone what they do imo. remember when they dropped millions of cluster bombs (yes, millions) in Lebanon after the settlement had been agreed upon. they're sick. and they have a much greater hand here and since my government dumps billions of dollars into their coffers I have a right to speak out.

end the fucking occupation and stop sucking the dick of military power ffs.

also eugene you're flat out wrong that Hamas rejects Israel's resistance. do some fucking reading ffs

Most people here are still going to masturbate to porn today.

this (and taboos') is the most meaningful point of the whole thread. people see some gore on aljazeera (because they're so rebellious and intelligent and they don't trust the zionist media and chubsky said it's all propaganda anyway) read a few headlines of some news which were provided by hamas members because they completely control the flow of information in gaza and its hospitals and go all internet-mob-with-pitchforks yelling "israel is a genocidal monster literally worse than hitler", and after that righteous outburst of ignorance they get back to their regular masturbation schedule.

first of palestinians don't even support them anymore at least according to recent polls: http://guardianlv.com/2014/07/gaza-strip-support-for-hamas-dwindles/

abbas is able to provide a much better well being to people which is the primary goal of all leaders, i dunno why you call him a joke, you're not a palestinian in west bank afaik.

oslo talks were supposed to bring the end to the conflict, most israelis and palestinian supported them at the time but they crumbled after rabin's assassination and later second intifada, right wing in power in israel and so on. i seriously don't understand what gives you confidence to call the a joke.

there is nothing comparable and all comparisons are always wrong, different situations, contexts, history, people. it's a waste of time and intellectual laziness to seek for such comparisons.

west bank is no less developed than any average middle eastern country (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_HDI), i'm not saying occupation doesn't affect them but it's extremely exaggerated. there are many ways of resisting occupation besides "kill all the jews" program, seriously man. there were no cluster bomb drops in lebanon after the ceasefire and 1701 resolution, you're making shit up.

I partially agree with Eugene here, the map has some misleading and inaccurate statements. Also, very few anti-Israeli rhetoric ever indicts Egypt or Jordan for their well-documented and major acts against Palestinians during the broader Arab-Israeli conflict.

That said, it's countering equally inaccurate and misleading pro-Israeli maps over the years...like this one, which essentially is like cherry-picking one ancient civilization of dozens that occupied that region...

swu-land.jpg

...or this one, which implies a territory of Egypt literally taken over in a few days in the 1967 war was a longstanding part of Israel. That would of been equivalent to handing over Southern Iraq to Kuwait in 1991 after the 100 hour ground campaign of the Gulf War. It was gained battleground, not lost sovereign territory.

Slide44.jpg

There are all clearly an over-simplification of the post-colonial mess the entire region by 1948. The fact that Palestinian Arabs didn't actually own and control those large portions of land doesn't make the fact that they are a landless, unrepresented population ok. There's something very snarky about those who point out that technically Palestinian land was Arab controlled and not independent, or more heinously that "Palestinians" are made-up. Well with that logic so are Israelis and so are Americans and so comes to question any ethnic group that forms the majority of a sovereign country they are not originally from.

the efficacy of iron dome is about 90%, but because you're so clever and don't trust officials you probably read those "professors" and skeptics that analyzed and watched some grainy videos and concluded that it's only 5% without any evidnece, and now it spread up in the soc networks because it supposedly makes israel look bad and incompetent.

I think it's a pathetic and shameful accusation used by insecure, petty people. my entire post was obviously sarcastic.

I see.. I misunderstood the context as it wasnt clear to me. It's all good.

As far as my labeling hamas as terrorists somehow meaning that im careless of the children in gaza who have been killed is preposterous. Of course, it's horrific, and I pray for all the children and innocents in both palestinian, israeli areas as well as the world.

And there are no buts, children dying is never okay.

I don't feel that my calling out hamas for what they are is anything short of reasonable. As ive said, they are classified as a terrorist organization by essentially several continents on the globe. You can argue the definition of terrorism, and say that intent doesnt matter, etc, but Hamas' standings and reputation is quite well known. Most religious extremist groups don't hide the fact that they're extremist.

Where I stand indifferent to your sentiments and probably many ppl in this thread is that I do not subscribe to the belief that the israeli govt/ idf are just a bunch of blood thirsty, genocidal maniacs like it's some simply explained cartoon-style antagonist. That's fine, we already agree to disagree. I stand even further against the claim that an ENTIRE country is a racist, genocidal country, and the people themselves are horrible people, which some ppl on this forum have been saying with carelessness and ignorance. If I said right now that palestinians are garbage/scum, anyone would have any right to call me out for being a racist asshole... Yet it's okay for people in here to say that israel/israelis are evil, racist, etc.. Unfair treatment.. Ppl are people. Call out the leadership and the ppl in charge of their military action/extremist factions, not the people of the land. Thats the problem I have.

Discussing the history of this conflict, current issues, ceasefires, military strategy, and the hopes for a solution of both sides of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is what's fair... Not lambasting or demonizing an entire people/country.

We all want peace/a solution... Ignorance will never get close to that. Some of those sentiments I quoted (sans your own that i misinterpreted) are the types of words that do more harm than good. Like really, Roasty, and Beerwolf? Do you want more divisiveness? More intolerance? More misunderstanding? More blaming? Those posts are hurtful to an entire people, whether that's israelis, muslims, jews or palestinians... And even in the case of "oh i was kidding dude, chill, or i was being fuckin ironic", fuck that. Thats some childish hatred, and to hide opinions or strong sentiments behind racist jokes is for cowards, and from my perspective, more damaging and ignorant than being outright with your beliefs. Maybe you do believe that, thats fine, and go ahead and express if you want, and ill be here to call you out.

And yes i can be pissed about posts like that, and no i dont have to prove that the deaths make me angry at the same time. Its watmm, were safe in our homes on the internet. We're not on the front lines. Were discussing current events. Were all human. A racist post is a racist post. I'll say it a thousands times, you can hide those sentiments behind as many war crimes and massacres as you want... It'll always be racism.

P.s. Alco, those last parts werent directed at you btw

That will probably be my last post, going offline for the weekend. Take it easy guys, and for the record, as much as I'm frustrated by the situation I still get bothered by the "fuck Israel" comments. I get the sentiment but I dunno, one could make the same case for a "fuck Hamas" or "fuck Arabs" or "fuck Palestine" or any other angry, simplistic declaration of an entire country/nation. The whole conflict is extremely upsetting.

We're all still watmmers at the end of the day. That's a silly thing to say I guess, but that's a major reason I hang out here and read even the most divisive threads.

I hope for a ceasefire over the weekend. I hope.
