(Let me preface this thread: If you don't like this kind of music gtfo, this is strictly for appreciation and sharing)

Particularly I've been listening to a lot of old Decapitated...their first album Winds of Creation imo is the best technical death metal album ever made.

Now it's your turn! :w00t:

**HEADBANGS**

I heard he dabbled into witchcraft, I heard occult
Oh, theyre pretty much the same
I guess he was adopted, or raised by wolves
Thats ridiculous to say

I heard he pulled over, cursed the town
Had the touch, so nothing grew
I heard that too, it's true!

That tonight

I heard he spoke in tongues, not crazy
I heard he was a refugee
I heard he was a monster, a scary ghost
Oh you know theres no such thing

I heard he pulled over, cursed the town
Had the touch, so nothing grew
I heard that too, it's true!

I come from a metal background and it dominated my listening habits for around seven years until I slowly started getting into electronic music through the likes of Harold Budd/Brian Eno and Carbon Based Lifeforms.

Even though I rarely listen to metal nowadays giving good old Slayer a spin every now and then is always great. I also love Beherit, Celtic Frost and basically a lot of death metal and black metal in general. There's a lot of good stuff in other metal subgenres of course, but way less than in the aforementioned ones.

I saw Carcass on this tour... Flawless...

Diamonds little story's suck... But Andy's guitar work is some of my favorite...

I don't keep up with metal anymore... But I grew up in the early death metal and thrash scene and still pull it out from time to time...

Among the only metal bands I can stand anymore, along with Dethklok. :shuriken:

Opeth's Blakwater Park and Watershed albums are absolute perfection to me, especially the first track on Watershed. Beautiful stuff.

i'm not a big metal fan, but occasionally i get a big hard-on for sludge that just won't go away until i spend a solid afternoon listening to my favourite metal band of all time, IRON MONKEY. i first heard this track when i was 14 years old and it blew my puny mind:

Also been listening to a lot of EYEHATEGOD lately:

basically if it's got stoned-out sabbath riffs I'l listen to it. also into stuff like Electric Wizard, Sleep, Boris when they're not being a drone-doom outfit etc...

and you can't forget the originals. legend has it, this song is actually about the calorie-free, all-natural sweetener stevia:
