So Mr. John-Paul Kramer (Casio Commander, Pizgah, founder of Metanoia Media) paid a visit to Milieu Music HQ in August, and during what became one of the most exhausting weeks of my life, we recorded nearly 2 hours of improvisations. We used everything but a computer to make this record...guitars, bass, organ, keyboard, turntable and turntable receiver, drum machines and all manner of unorthodox sound sources, all straight to tape. I made a point to not listen to the material at all until about 2 and a half weeks later, so I could have a fresh outlook on what we did, and when I came back to it, it seemed to have developed a mind of its own. I'm particularly fond of this r…

...which just so happens to be my birthday. I wonder if Dr. Pepper's still giving all americans one free beverage to celebrate. I heard most of the leaked album, and was surprised to find it wasn't nearly as terrible as I thought it would be. That was kind of disappointing actually. I was hoping there would be more lols. Q-tip - The Renaissance

His First Single: Gettin Up' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7A3OHelBweY From Wiki: It lists production by Q-Tip, J Dilla, Kanye West, Dan the Automator, The Neptunes, Large Professor, Madlib, will.i.am, Pete Rock, DJ Premier. But that seems a little suspect seeing as it's basically every legendary producer of the last 20 years. But at the same time, it is Q-tip. One of the most influential MC's living today. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news...ance-kamaal-lps http://q-tipnetwork.ning.com/ I am fuckin Psyched. Can't wait to blaze to this shit over Christmas. And Gettin Up' Is such a great throwback... omg so good. ORGASM. Nov 4t…

Max Tundra - Parallax Error Beheads You

just got this email: After six years' worth of intensive, retina-reddening, banana- and tea-fuelled all-night studio bothering, prolonged by several generous chunks of task-avoidance owing to the general distracting/tiring nature of an enthusiastic life in a London full of cinema companions and friends with supreme cooking skills, Max Tundra's third album is finally ready. "Parallax Error Beheads You" will be released by Domino on 13th October this year. http://dominorecordco.com --- Max Tundra will be supporting Hot Chip on their UK tour this autumn. UNCHDUB2 CYAN341 - "PATTERN 4" 10" / Digital download Tracks Pattern 4 (version 4.1) Pattern 4 (LJ Kruzer remix) Cyan 341 is a London-based producer of deep Detroit-inspired Techno. He also runs the critically acclaimed Rednetic Recordings and releases music under the Zainetica alias. His sound is a weaving together of Berlin techno minimalism and the deeper, funkier Detroit techno of acts such as Anthony Shakir, Mark Kinchin, Scott Kinchin and the more well known techno triumvirate. He has recently released EP's for Smallfish, Kreislauf and Rednetic as well as appearing on volume 5 of Uncharted Audio's "Signals" series, alongside such UK electronic…

Not much on City Centre Offices' website. Discogs has a tracklisting for the promo but I haven't found any previews. Anyone heard anything off of this one yet? 2006's Pale Glitter is probably among my favourite albums so I'm definitely curious about this next one.

i was very skeptical of villalobos for a very long time, dismissing his stuff as background chatter for k-holes. but i must admit i really like this ep (and i liked achso very much too). minimoonstar is a nice exercise in restraint, and when he finally starts bringing in the more melodic loops, it's just fabulous. the shackleton remix shows why he might be my favourite dubstep producer. again more restraint, with dub echo effects and much more minimal (lol) percussion. almost like an orb track. electronic water sounds like villalobos trying to do dubstep, in his usual clicky poppy scratchy thing, and the remix of it is nice dancefloor fodder so yesh, a…
