    she was in so many things throughout her life. memorable parts. Slapshot is a cult classic and mandatory viewing for hockey fans all over the planet. Close Encounters, magnolia and on and on. had a long career and stayed under the radar. seems like ideal thing to be well known but not super famous to the point of dealing w/all the negatives that come w/fame. RIP. i remember her from such an early age because of close encounters..

    why sample in FLAC though? you short of HD space or something? HDs are cheap af these days. i always record in wav.. sampling and what not too. it's more compatible with different software.

    it's good. listening to the bandcamp page now. added to wishlist. some killer stuff. that big dark droney lush thing that starts around the 15 minute mark. oof. so rich sounding. i like the classic frantic sounding beats and bleeps that happen throughout this. killer stuff.

    i remember reading a squarepusher interview or watching one? can't recall where he talks about how aphex told him if he wanted to sell some records to put some vocals in his music here and there. didn't even have to be lyrics. could just be like musical samples of his voice or a voice. this was after go plastic/red hot car came out. something about the human voice connecting w/people and radio play and other things. i can't remember. maybe i'm making it up and dreamed it. but there's something to it isn't there? even in the "weirdest" music some singing goes a long way for some people even when it's nonsense. anyways.. i like a bunch of Clark stuff. will check this out once there's previews not linked to apple music. it's only good for syncing to my ipod.

    my friend's kid goes to one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country that happens to be located in Sarasota, FL. currently they're organizing protests because the state is trying to force them to adopt a religious/federalist type of curriculum based on Hillsdale college curriculum. Hillsale some cringey shit. i know someone who went there. it's religious based conservatism and it's insidious. these people are pieces of shit and they're trying to destroy anything that questions their worldview. https://www.wsj.com/articles/new-college-of-florida-at-crossroads-as-ron-desantis-sees-liberal-bias-11674794682 Some students and faculty, meanwhile, have said they are concerned that New College could be thrust into uncertainty as it becomes a political football.
