  1. seems like it's been that way since the beginning though. if people were actually listening and reading a bit beyond the basic headlines all that info is there. there's seemingly always been a large variation in results to infection in people but also very typical results for lot's of people. the evolving nature of a virus is a huge wild card for sure. also, the uniqueness of all our basic health conditions and immune health or immune uniqueness. if that's a thing. seems like it. our genetic make ups and stuff. there's been plenty to doom scroll about and doom is certainly one take on it and seems pretty valid for a segment of the population. anyway.. here's some doom: https://jessicawildfire.substack.com/p/stay-home-if-you-can-a-street-smart some her writing is pretty good in other pieces. wide ranging topics. these two links are relevant. https://jessicawildfire.substack.com/p/nobodys-coming-to-save-you-the-future
  2. he's been grooming himself for this job for a long time. apparently since early days in CA assembly. today it was reported that he screamed loud AF in the private meeting w/republicans "I'VE EARNED THIS JOB!!!" lol. fucking tool indeed.
  3. i have that other Legiac record and love it. it's been on the ipod for ages. glad to know there's more coming. Roel came to portland a while back for a DJ set. was a nice night. super down to earth dude. enjoyed his set.
  4. someone's made a free m4l device with similar goal.. i haven't tried it yet but will asap. https://maxforlive.com/library/device/8664/respeak
  5. i bought Confield at local fav record store in san diego. had just been through a difficult break up. i was kinda shut down. Confield was perfect for my brain at that moment. when i got i was walking out the store and around the corner was a restaurant that had an outdoor hostess station and the hostess was french i think. She said "what'd you buy?" and i said new autechre.. and she said something like "oooh, like, minimal, very nice...." and i said yeah and kept walking because was in total introvert mode and too stupid to stop and chat w/the tall french woman. anyway.. went home to my apartment and played the vinyl for a good long while. those opening tones delivered.

  10. PT for my left shoulder doesn't seem to be doing much good. hoping i get through this plateau. also, a 20yr old has a crush on me. she didn't believe me when i told her i was older than her parents. i'll have to show her my ID so she'll understand i really am 2.5 times her age. or i could just take off my hat and show her my destroyed hairline and the coming baldness.
  11. that sucks. i got to know Isaac Brock a little bit via my last job. went to his studio/loft space a couple times to help him set up/sort out his modular. that band seems like a bunch of lovely unique weirdos who came together to make things happen. they seemed to always be playing a show somewhere and were stoked about it. cancer sucks.
  12. this morning i was reminded of being a complete idiot for a very long time.
  13. watched "Come and See" yesterday. wtf. i knew kinda what to expect since i had some briefing about that special german unit made up of psychopaths released form prisons who were murderers, rapist, pedos etc.. but it's something else to see it portrayed in this way.. it's a bit surreal and disorienting. tells a part of the tale of SS units that burned 628 villages (and their inhabitants) in what is now belarus. if memory serves, this ss unit is also one of the units that shot jews by the thousands before the nazi's started killing them w/gas etc.
  14. somewhere sean said it's for the rerelease of artificial intelligence and the mix is made up of stuff that was around them at the time of that release.
  15. BaBa Wawa dead at 93 Barbara Walters, pioneering TV journalist who began on ‘TODAY,’ dies at 93 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/barbara-walters-pioneering-tv-journalist-began-today-dies-93-rcna42287 she was controversial and was soft on a lot of terrible people but sometimes interesting.. kinda 50/50 i guess. 93 is pretty old. nothing to complain about. was reading that she "dated" roy cohn to give him cover because he was gay.. even while he was doing some dirt that affected gay people. cohn is a legendary piece of shit. here's some info https://www.joemygod.com/2008/05/barbara-walters-why-i-was-roy-cohns/
  16. there's no reason to choose. i will not choose. but in 97 i smoked something someone told me was opium but i'm sure it was hash or some mix of the two and Recury took me to the most wonderful comfortable cave i've ever been in. but really i was just pulling all the covers up over my head and going "SHHHHHSSHHHH" to my then girlfriend.
  17. buddy of mine got a weird thing when he traveled in se asia. lost like 30 pounds which was a lot for him since he only weighed like 165 and is 6ft tall. for months he had stomach issues. he ate a ton of yogurt and eventually whatever was ailing him moved on or was conquered by his gut biome. guts are weird some times.
