those back street boys tracks made a zillion dollars i think. also, i think he does some sound for picture maybe? in the 90s he endorsed literally everything. any of the music tech/recording mags would have at least one full page advert of him endorsing something. "Anyone who knows me, knows that I use Bias Peak for editing" or whatever. i mean whatever... these people exist. people endorse stuff. look at jordan rudess. there's people out there making a living at this somehow through hardwork or luck or both.

that studio tour is a bit weird. does he do sound for tv or something? those albums he is promoting in the video are both ambient music for adult contemporary market or something. they're on yotuube. sounds like BT and maybe that's just how he sounds. idk. i've only ever heard that track from the 90s w/whale sounds in it and some stuff my nephew played for me when he was like 12. i guess BT produced some backstreet boys and justin timberlake tracks. the vocal editing was quite complex and had some interesting dsp. anyway...
  3. he's in the thumbnail of all the articles about the movie and i think the trailer on youtube too and every time i see a story w/that thumbnail of him smiling w/the dreads i think "Wtf that looks so awful in every way" and it looks stuck in a previous era.. like the 90s maybe when trends were heavy with clothing styles and haircuts.
  4. something about not enough evidence or cooperation to charge him. it's pretty weird imo but not unexpected. he's a genuine piece f shit and probably enjoyed the publicity because he totally believes there's no such thing as bad press.
  5. when i made sample libraries of one shots i had to use more than one program since there isn't one single bit of software that does all the things. i think i used /strip silence/ -> make new audio files out of separate regions in DP or something. but also did some stuff in live because when ya edit a bit of audio you can make it into its own sample and it goes into the subfolder in teh sessions called "processed audio" or whatever it is so then it's easy to dig out the samples. but.. if any DAW or editor would just do 'strip silence-> make new audio files' and save to a folder it'd be way easier. i think there's a script or something but i forget. been a minute since i spit out a bunch of one shots. 'renamer' was great for renaming things though.
  6. just let the farts escape when she's around. loud, silent.. whatever.
  7. belongs in the "what's right with florida" thread
  8. it does have some minimal moments.. i mean.. a bunch of their tunes are pretty stripped down aren't they? but i was hung up on how she said 'minimal' for a long time because of her accent and me being a dumb idiot for not stopping walking down the sidewalk and having a conversation about it with her or whatever.
  9. Twitter said it fixed ‘verification.’ So I impersonated a senator (again). Elon Musk said Twitter would begin authenticating users who pay $8 for Blue. Our tech columnist was still able to get a checkmark for an impostor Sen. Ed Markey.
  10. tell her that xanax works great for stress. i don't recommend this but in the 90s a friend of a friend did some really awkward stuff to creep out someone he didn't want coming around. the next time she's over while you're playing video games w/your friend just leave the bathroom door open while you have a nice poo. your friend may not come around again either though.
  11. in december i spent $1800 on a crown/cleaning/replacing old fillings. the crown was because i waited too long to replace the old filling in that tooth and the tooth cracked. at least now all the old fillings are out. i thought about just getting the tooth extracted but it was still salvageable so.. money go poof!
  12. yep. we know. https://futurism.com/stanford-scientists-civilization-crumble Stanford Scientists Warn That Civilization as We Know It Will End in "Next Few Decades" "Humanity is very busily sitting on a limb that we're sawing off."
  13. yeah. it's good. basically what you expect plus some simple short commentary/narration. it's not sensationalized or hyped.
  14. that's the one i have and really like edit: is his other stuff now only available via subscription? weird.
  15. yeah. that was my take. it's like 50/50. some of it sounds reasonable and some of it is "i know i'm not supposed to tell a woman to calm down but calm the fuck down" seems like she could've waited a day and done another draft. some of her other pieces are quite good and tap into something i appreciate and are less sensationalized edit: this one is more about numbers and analyzing data/actual death rates from covid 19 https://jessicawildfire.substack.com/p/we-dont-really-know-covids-true-death stuff we've know i guess. .from reading over the pandemic but less talked about now it seems.
