  1. i watched it and there's a narrator at times.. i was trying to figure out if the narrator was Dolan.. for no reason other than "they crossed the streams". i think it is Dolan. his voice is not too hard to recognize.

  3. booty train? edit: lump sum.. then i'd troll/shame people/billionaires/douchebags with sky writers. also, meme-war brought to the mainstream and open sourced. fund some lawsuits to be thorny in some sides of various churches, mega-corps, city councils etc, make a gluten free version of Murphy's Irish Stout. make a Foundation for giving away tax free money/grants to people who need it. I'd also pay some engineer to invent a machine powerful enough to pull the sticks out of people's asses. oh, of course i'd find like a thousand people of various ages and put them under contract to shit on Trump's grave once he dies.. not all at the same time but sort of sporadically over a several year period.. just to make it become a trend then endure's for generations.
  4. the narrator is that Richard Dolan guy right? from the disclosure project? edit, yeah that's him i think.
  5. there's a hidden track on the Deloc release that kills. called 'lloeproe' not even listed as a bonus track but you get it if ou buy the release.. i did anyways..
  6. there's a good music scene here for weird shit.. noise, ambient, drone etc.. in the 90s/00s there was a lot of what we'd call IDM in the PNW but also, the whole west coast... there's a good crew of older electro heads here though. people who've been playing and djing etc forever but are older now and have kids and whatever so do less stuff. there seems to be a rave scene building again though.. kind of around more bonkers faster stuff.. gabber and hardcore and fast breaks all mashed together. i don't know what the kids are up to. but there's things happening regularly. a bunch of young people showed up to the Roel Funcken gig that happened some months back. they seemed into it. so that's good. i moved here in 2004 and there was a weekly..every tuesday called Laptop Lounge at a local bar.. it went on for a year. every week. and was packed. lot's of DJ sets, bunch of live sets.. all IDM, electro etc and one or two surprise gigs that happened. it was a good time in general in portland. before the gentrification got really going. some friends and I had a monthly at Ground Kontrol.. retro barcade. we'd play all the stuff we liked.. we did for a couple years then passed it off to some friends who did for like 4 more years.. all electro and IDM type stuff.. short answer.. yeah.. there's a ton of people here, older now, who were part of the local regular nights happening. lot's of cross pollination of different styles/vibes etc that would all get thrown into the IDM bin at a record store. edit: i wouldn't say it's where _all_ of the idm fans are. there's just good turn out for certain things. but generally AE sells out when they play here and in 2015 played 2 gigs back to back because the first one sold out pretty fast. but seems like there's good turn out in a lot of places for "weirder" stuff these days.
  7. saw this pop up in the youtube algo today..
  8. gonna be some chaos. this video.. another about that AMOC/gulfstream report.. in a nutshell says northern hemisphere will get varying degrees of cooler and southern hemisphere will get varying degrees of warmer.. but in all that is fucked up weather, rains, floods etc etc.. also, coincidentally.. this video which is mostly about how china is covering up the massive floods in Beijing.. first in 140 years.. shows some crazy flood footage. the headline is a bit overdone but.. whatevs..
  9. Floorgonomics edit: also, soon on reddit - "can anyone tell me what the record is that's 4 records deep in the row that's on the left"
  10. yeah.. it made the rounds a bit the other day. i guess picked up by mainstream news even.. those same fucks did the shit in the 90s. bunch of smug pricks at the heritage foundation. basically, rollback all the climate stuff, hamstring green energy every way possible, consolidate power in the president, further wreck every department of government.. epa, education, HUD, etc..
  11. my buddy's live set from a few days ago at an outdoor festival here in oregon. solid vibes. gets going at times but is pretty lush too. i think he's going to get it mastered somewhat and make it available for DL or something.
  12. one time girlfriend and long time good friend just found out she has breast cancer. she hasn't totally let the cat out of the bag but let me know today. it sucks. she has a daughter who is i think 19 yrs old. has a really great supportive husband so that's good. but just sucks. she's a kindred spirit and like an old school homie who i've known for like 30 years. i don't know the details yet as to what type and treatment plan but it's news i never wanted to get and certainly didn't want today. i never thought i'd be mad at breasts. edit: goes w/o saying that today just sucks and i'd like to punch god in the face. other fwp is i got a new job YAY and it will be awesome work from home good salary, set my own hours etc but the on boarding process has stalled because the onboarding person has to get ahold of some oregon bureaucracy people to meet licensing bullshit because new job is out of state location so there's more hoops to jump through to make it work and hire me. i'm hired so that's good but in limbo until this goes through then i can jump in and tackle the learning curve. for now i'm going to go for a bike ride and sweat out this angst at human condition.
  13. fuck. that's rough. was a break out kinda role. his character's story in that show was pretty awesome. left on a real cliff hanger. not like they can replace him.. unless they did the shooting already or something.. wack. super bummer.
  14. and fuck cancer! fuck cancer. fuck cancer
  15. fuck. this is weird. https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/31/entertainment/paul-reubens-dead/index.html Paul Reubens, who found fame as the quirky man-child character Pee-wee Herman, has died, according to an announcement on his verified social media. He was 70. “Last night we said farewell to Paul Reubens, an iconic American actor, comedian, writer and producer whose beloved character Pee-wee Herman delighted generations of children and adults with his positivity, whimsy and belief in the importance of kindness,” the post reads. “Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit. A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit.”
  16. yeah.. and she differentiated between the AMOC and Gulfstream so it's a bit of splitting hairs.. semantics. which is why i said she has "other ideas" about it... which i guess is also splitting hairs. .. semantics. saying "it's something we should avoid if possible" is pretty obvious though isn't it?
