Literally just listened to these just now after three years. The track that comes in around the 16th minute is so banging i had to rewind three times.
  2. If you think of it in that way you cannot give any music a name. If you try to explain an Aphex Twin to someone who isn't in the scene, it doesn't matter that he has honed his craft. The person you are explaining it to will see it as weird and experimental music anyway. That's why I feel like it's the best term. This music is objectively more difficult to get into than, say, an EDM so that's why I feel like not all music can be named expermimental. Even if, in a sense, it's true that all music can be named experimental I guess. I don't really have anything against the term IDM, imo it sounds quite nice. But to people that don't listen to this type of music it might come off as pretentious. Even if it doesn't mean music for intelligent people it would be too much explaining to do.
  3. I like to call it experimental electronic music Or at least that's the term I coin when I talk about the music to people
  4. I never expected a new installment to come out. You guys hype yourselves up way too much. The repress is nice but I don't buy vinyl
  5. I've only ever seen Overmono and that was yesterday. I had tickets for Squarepusher but due to the pandemic they canceled it. I know, I'm a newbie to liveshows lol
  6. Goddamn this was banging One of the best live acts out there atm
  7. Going to the Amsterdam show tonight
  8. I tend to skip the cirklont tracks on Syro. In my opinion the album is near perfect and everything sounds very smooth, exept for those tracks in the middle. They are good but I often find myself not in the mood for them
  9. Exokind is one the best ambient tracks he's released in my opinion. For me it's up there with beachfires and subtemple. (I know it's probably an unpopular opinion to like those tracks but hey)
  10. It's pretty good, nothing we haven't heard before but that's acceptable with Vatican Shadow.
  11. Everyone is typing paragraphs of shit here about this dude saying they aren't mad. Lol why are you wasting so much of your time on him then move on with your life forum dwelling ass
  12. This shit is great just like Antidawn but I find myself revisiting these ambient tracks less than his beat-heavy works. Well see what this release does. It's still very nice rainy winter music and maybe it's even better than antidawn
  13. Why are you so worked up over this. He's not hurting you and you don't have to listen to his music. Goddamn cry about it
  14. I dont necessarily agree. I also don't really understand why he felt the need to add the edits since no one is going to play them on actual radio, but it's not really padding imo. Its an EP with four very long tracks. The first one is around 20 mins if I'm not mistaken. That makes the ep 40 mins long. It's just a nice extra for people with worse attention spans. Also sometimes it's nice to put on a short banger and then move on with your life.
  15. Its pretty normal with more pop oriented singles. Its like a radio edit.
  16. Great track, this is starting to sound like Plaid's most ambitious and grand project to date.
