  1. That reference is a hilarious deep cut. (For those who missed it, this is a reference to something someone kept suggesting to The Beatles about playing in Morocco I think it was on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea?
  2. https://tomakami.bandcamp.com/album/amapicante-ep Toma Kami is back for his third release with the Bristol based label, which so far seems to be noticeably more sparse than what we're used to from this guy. The preview track feels a lot more laid back, too. Feels a lot less "hard drum" than most of my favourite productions but as labels go, Livity Sound has scarcely if ever let me down with their releases. Toma Kami's other two releases with them are Negative Extacy and Sharp Tool in the Shed [b/w] Land of the Insane and are highly recommended, as are his other releases. He's part of that whole "hard drum" scene, which despite its silly name is some of the most creative dancefloor friendly experimentation starting partway through last decade. Tracklisting: 1. Amapicante 2. Zone Bruma 3. Later to the Bone 4. Mzecal
  3. Planet Mu currently has a sale on. 3 records for 33 quid/5 CDs from before 2020 for 25 quid. So I got 6 CDs, there's one or two I didn't get that I hope to get sometime in the future, but here's what I got: iTAL tEK - Nebula Dance Konx-om-Pax - Regional Surrealism Herva - Kila & Hyper Flux Ziúr - U Feel Anything? & ATØ
  4. Checking out some Brian Eno I haven't heard. I Dormienti is originally from 1999. Very pretty and at times it sorta calls to mind the music Ryuichi Sakamoto and Carsten Nicolai did together. This is because of the the piano, background drones, slight glitchiness. It is much more minimal though.
  5. Consider my interest piqued. Dixon's work under his own name, Minimal Detroit, and Population One is all so good.
  6. This is maybe my favourite La Monte Young piece ^ One of the most famous drone pieces, by a friend/associate of Young's: Sometimes piobaireachd gets there, too
  7. He may be occasionally too melodic for some of your tastes but I'm a fan of Andrew Chalk
  8. WOW. One of his best I've heard
  9. Holy shit. I'm dumbstruck.
  10. Future WATMMer right there. Plus his username is from a classic EP by Dillinger Escape Plan & Mike Patton
  11. https://totalblack.bandcamp.com/album/as-loud-as-possible One of the most classic, quintessential harsh noise albums of all time is As Loud As Possible by the Japanese legends, Incapacitants (Toshiji Mikawa and Fumio Kosakai). Although it came out just over a quarter of a century ago, it's never had a proper reissue until about a week ago. Now you vinyl afficionados can snag a copy. There's also the wearable merch (I'm probably gonna get a tshirt for myself) and lossless remastered files from the label reissuing the work, Total Black. New edition has liner notes from Sam "The Rita" McKinlay and the remastering is done by a guy whose name is itself almost synonymous with the work of mastering and remastering: Rashad Becker
  12. Opal by Batu Tracklisting: 1. Former World (0:58) 2. Mineral Veins (2:51) 3. Convergence (4:23) 4. Even Here (3:28) 5. Atavism (4:13) 6. Emulsion of Light (2:26) 7. Solace (2:44) 8. Squall (3:49) 9. Spectral Hearts (4:14) 10. Eolith (2:37) 11. Always There (4:19) I am incredibly excited for this! Omar McCutcheon, better known as "Batu" is one of the leading and best known practitioners of what is referred to as "leftfield techno". Lush ambience, a flair for the psychedelic, and even more refined than ever before on this release is a sense of sculpted detail. Batu is the head of Timedance Records, a record label based in Bristol, UK formed after the dance night series of the same name.

Nothing like a prohibition, whatsoever. Just certain sounds feel dated to an extent that they distract me and detract from my own enjoyment.
  14. EXCITE!!! deserves its own thread in New and Upcoming Releases
  15. Nice. Watch you don't get gonked on the head there, folks
