Rephlex's denialRephlex's co-founder Grant Wilson-Claridge has stated in an e-mail interview that The Tuss is not Richard D. James. He has stated:[6]

“People seem more interested in speculation and celebrity than content, quality or music. Be careful you don't miss something really great that isn't really famous.

”He also stated in the same interview:

“There are so many good records out there, just support the artists providing the entertainment you love with your purchase of a new original edition in decent proportion to your useage of it. There are also tons of legends myths rumours and fallacies that arise and become publically accepted as truth and maybe that's one reason that so much of contemporary opinion is too far from the ideal.

User on here named Mandow said he spoke with RDJ and told Richard said something along the lines of: "Of course I'm the Tuss, wasn't that obvious?"

Can't be arsed to do a search for the thread right now though, drunk + want to sleep. But Rushup Edge is AFX I'm sure, and if it isn't him, it'd be awesome as well, because then there are other artists out there that are as good as him.

I think The Tuss was a understandable attempt to get away from the 'Aphex Twin' iconography but if you're really into his music you must be a fucking idiot to think that he's had nothing to do with it but I think perhaps thats the idea i.e. the real fans can use thier ears to decide.

It wouldn't surprise me if ole RDJ has a few more alias on Rephlex.

A: he doesn't state anywhere in that interview that "The Tuss is not Richard D James". He just implies that it might not be for all we know and it shouldn't matter if it is or not anyway.

B: The Tuss is Richard D. James.

So how many GX1 owners do we have in the UK?

(I can think of two and that's if one hasn't sold it to the other anywayz)

okay, so this has always been a big obsession with rephlex and RDJ, the idea that people aren't so easily focussing on the qualities of the music as much as they're expecting extra unnecessary detail to add to the value they perceive themselves as getting when they lay down their cash. if you've ever wondered exactly what you get when you buy a record, put it on and just hear the sounds coming out the speakers - everything else, forget it . and i agree with the idea that seems to be coming across from GWC, that there's a lot of bullshit which makes certain people stick in the minds of folk that ultimately simply distracts from each person making their own choices and simply enjoying the music they find and they choose to listen to. the games RDJ is seen to be playing are simply his was of stating how daft all this additional consideration for the unnecessary really is.
