I swear, there's nothing like joining an internet forum to make you feel guilt, then fear, disgust, pathos and even revulsion at your own fandom.

Is this a good thing, purging you of fanboy urges as you wince at the reflection of yourself in others? Or is it a really bad thing, in that it kills the joy and the happiness that one's fandom previously brought you, which was previously a positive force in your life?

Which does one need to be cured of? The fandom, or the loathing?

Also, will I regret having posted this in the morning, when I sober up? (the answer to that one is, almost certainly.)

Yeah, see this is it. When you feel like it's a constant fight to be who you are, or express yourself in a way that feels natural to you without being constantly mocked or made to feel abnormal or even evil.

That's when you start to think "is this a silly and fun way to waste a boring day in the office, or is this something that is just making feel guilty for being who I am."

It's doing my fucking head in. That's all. Should waste my time enjoying mine own fandom in a way that doesn't threaten or upset anyone else, I guess. And doesn't make me feel like shit for being a fan. Like sit around and make my eyes go funny drawing things like this...

Just power through, a lot of people on here have fallen to this imaginary peer pressure of having to be a complete twat cos everyone else is. I mean, this is the internet but it's turned into real life or something?
